Wonderful spot for a few days in the Bayeux area. Perfect soot

Need a full length mirror and darker curtains on 2nd floor bedroom. Everything else is amazing.

Perfect

This place exceeded expectations. Despite the high ratings, I was a bit apprehensive given that it's an old building in an old small town, but the unit was very spacious, stylishly appointed, spotlessly clean, and had every amenity one could ask for, including a moccamaster coffee maker (like I use at home). I had no idea about the location really, just that it was right in Bayeux, but I didn't realize it was right on the main street with restaurants, markets, shops, etc right outside your door. Every day, it was an easy stroll to a market to buy food to cook at the unit, or a restaurant, or a boulangerie. We stayed Friday thru Monday so I think this worked out perfect for us in terms of parking because there's a spacious lot behind the unit that's apparently free on the weekends. YMMV but we never paid and never had an issue. We were gone during the days taking day trips to various areas in Normandy, but that was a concern of mine before, but it was so easy. Communication with the host and access via a lockbox was very easy as well. Highly recommended, and if/when I return to Normandy, I will definitely try to come back here.

Just be aware of the late check in (5pm). I had forgotten, so I was a bit confused upon arrival.

The apartment was darling. In a great location and lots of space.

There was not a decent mirror. The one in the bathroom was dark and had a hard time getting ready. Would also have loved some shampoo, conditioner, lotion and basic toiletries.

Perfect location, spacious, and charming renovated unit

This apartment is gorgeous, spacious, and in an amazing location right in the city center. We loved coming back to the apartment, opening the windows, and enjoying the view of the city center street the apartment overlooks. My kids loved the upstairs room, and the apartment has a nice new washer and dryer as well. There is even a market literally just across the street, where we enjoyed shopping for food items before going back to prepare meals in the spacious and modern kitchen.

Great location, but would not recommend in cold weather

Pros: The location can’t be beat. Interior decor is great.

Cons: If you are not slim, this is not the home for you. The entry and stairs are exceptionally narrow. A plus size person could not fit. The shower sprayer has no attachment so it just lays on the floor, and you must hold it the entirety of the shower. We visited in November and despite freezing temps, all of the here’s were off. We had to turn them on and wait for the place to heat up. —it never did. The beds had no top sheet - just a fitted sheet and a comforter. No blankets supplied so we were absolutely miserably cold. Filthy towels in the kitchen to dry your hands (they literally looked like someone used it to scrub a floor). Used sponge to wash dishes. The kitchen doesn’t have any drawers for utensils, and when I asked the host where to find them, his response back just asked if I was serious (come on - you are hosting international guests - don’t be a jerk). For whomever needs to know, there are drawers in the table (I’d never seen that before). The silverware are in one of the drawers, but are just thrown in - no organizer, just a mass of utensils.

A wonderful mix of style, comfort and utility.

We felt like we were at home. Very stylish interior with a real feeling of being in an old town center. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The narrow stairway added to the realization that this is historic France. We made our own breakfast with provisions from the market right across the street, and having a washer and dryer was very convenient.

A stylish apartment in a great location…. BUT….

The apartment is very stylish, in a fabulous location and spotlessly clean. It’s well equipped, with a really comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. There is a great little supermarket just across the road, and a couple of boulangeries very close by. The parking right by the property is payable during the day, but free parking is a 5 minute walk away, with loads of space.

The BIG issue is the shower! It’s a ‘telephone’ style shower attachment that you have to hold whilst showering. There’s no thermostatic control and the hot water is extremely hot (a safety issue in my view). Stefan, the host, told me that “the shower is as it should be”. I’ve stayed in many holiday properties, but I’ve never come across this before. The apartment is expensive - and let down by a fixable issue…. such a shame.

This was an exceptional experience. Lovely, quaint and epitomized a mid town convenient walkup. 50 yards from a great bakery for fresh croissants and gelato and coffee. Great communication. literally a perfect location for walking the tranquil town of Bayeux. Well done indeed!

Appartamento bellissimo, caratteristico e molto curato e pulito, in posizione ottimale. Unica pecca (ma anche il suo lato più particolare) le scale interne. Non adatto a persone anziane o con difficoltà di deambulazione.

Se fossi l’host attrezzerei un po’ di più la cucina, con qualche stoviglia in più, e magari farei trovare dei prodotti per l’igiene personale nella doccia. Piccoli dettagli che renderebbero la casa ancora più confortevole
