It was a nice venue
The heating wasn’t working all night so the room was freezing. Both me and my partner now have a cold. And you can hear everything outside the room. The people next to us were in and out constantly late at night

Nice friendly staff, lovely location, nice pub, warm room, comfortable bed, beautiful food.
No remote for tv, no spoon for tea/coffee, cups too small. Room wasn't cleaned from previous guest but staff put us in a different room straight away. Internet kept going off saying incorrect password.

The location is excellent for Stadium of Light and walks along the seafront. Nice bar with what looked like good food even though I did not eat in the hotel. Sea view from the room was bonus. The room was large and spacious with plenty of storage. Comfortable bed and a T.V with news channels which is what I prefer.
Nothing really. Turning the shower on was awkward but Im being picky

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location with excellent staff.
The only issue we had as an older couple was the stairs up to the rooms could do with a handrail on the right hand side .

The staff were lovely, warm, and welcoming. The location was brilliant. Lyndsey went out of her way to try and help us. The staff need more recognition, and maybe the owners could put as much money into the hotel as the bar! The room had potential it was big and spacious.
Breakfast was lovely.
Walking down the corridors to the room we felt pretty cold, however once we opened the door to our room it was absolutely freezing. We went down to the bar/reception to be told the heating was broken, then someone told us it wasn't broken it needed switching on, it was on a timer and it had been "boosted".
We sat in the warm bar for a while, went back up to our room hoping it would be warm, still baltic. The water finally ran luke warm after a while of running the tap so I chanced a shower, soaped up and hair shampoo'd the shower then decided to go ice cold. Once out of the shower, wrapped in a towel, the fire alarm went off several times, (my lad was in the cold shower at the time). Staff came and checked all was ok, then returned again to double check, by this time, Im now in my underwear. They wanted to double check the room as my sarcastic comment of we have lit a candle to try and get warm was actually taken seriously. So we let them in, I hid away behind the wardrobe door, realising too late, half the curtains were missing (the curtains rails were on the floor) so most of the sea front had seen me in my underwear! We got ready and left for an evening at a family party. When we returned we hoped the heating had come on and warmed the room, it hadn't, we retrieved the spare duvet and curtains from the bottom of the wardrobe and placed them on the beds, we were going to be going to bed fully dressed. My husband popped down for a cigarette and mentioned to the ladies how bad it was, a very lovely lady lyndsey brought us extra duvets, agreeing the room was freezing and all this at well after midnight. (She is lovely and deserves a mention, she really did go Above and beyond)
So settled in bed fully dressed with mountains of duvets, we turned the light off......oh my goodness, the room was brighter without the light. The street light (space ship) outside the incurtained windows lit the whole room up!

Phone charger taken, alleged mistake from cleaner, 3 charges taken, 2 given back, I dread to think what was going on in my absence' couldn't believe what someone put as a favorite on firestick left in room?
very rare to have a tv remote in rooms, wifi was poor. windows poor quality didnt prevent wind noises and the boy racer car exhausts outside, the everest feather test would have blown across the room

The location is great – just a few minutes away from the seafront. Unfortunately, that's the only positive.
I never leave reviews, which shows how bad this place was. Upon arrival there was loads of littter and broken glass in car park – I could look past the litter, but broken glass isn't ideal when you're trying to find a space to park. For some reason the check-out time for this hotel is 10am, which is ridiculously early – most I've used previously have been 11am or 12pm. I requested a late check out and this was accommodated until 1pm, which was appreciated. However, this wasn't honoured the next day. Got up to the dark, dingy room and it was absolutely filthy and covered in dust – there were what appeared to be bloodstains on the bedding and the mattress belongs in the tip – loads of broken springs poking through which made for an uncomfortable sleep. Lighting fixtures hanging off the walls and zero PAT testing on any of the dodgy-looking electrical items in the room, which didn't fill me with confidence. The bathroom has some kind of weird, black linoleum-type material stuck to the walls – judging by the overpowering smell of mildew in there, I can only assume this is to hide mould beneath. The room was freezing – I had to sleep fully clothed including a hoodie. You also can't get out the front door at night, which was bizarre – you have to go through the bar and ask to be let out. The following morning finally arrived and we were awoken to a fire alarm test at 09:45 – just what you want on a Sunday during a (supposedly) relaxing weekend away. I can only assume this is a tactic to get people up and out by the 10am check-out time. About 5 minutes later, another fire alarm went off. Got back in bed and tried to get back to sleep ahead of my long drive home. Barely a few minutes passed before the (extremely rude) cleaner was hammering on the door telling us to 'get out' by 10am. Explained we had arranged a late checkout until 1pm, which she said she would have to go and ask downstairs about (as if we were lying).

I accidentally booked a twin room instead of a double the staff couldn't of been more helpful in sorting it out cracking bunch of people
The signage in the car park could be more clear on the fact that you don't have to pay if your stopping in the hotel the staff told me as soon as I went in but in my haste I payed before we left the car

Brilliant location. The staff are super friendly and are willing to help and advise. It served its purpose.
The damp in the room all on the wall. Smell of damp in the bathroom. The dust above the headboard and on the bedside cabinets.

Location was ideal, staff were friendly enough.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Carpet was filthy / stained. Locked out on the first evening, the staff forgot to tell us the shutters come down at midnight. Woke up to a bug bed on the last morning, reported to staff on the way out and they didn't seemed surprised shall we say.
6.0 / 10.0
The location was great, a stones from away from Roker beach, cafes, pubs, bars, and convenience stores.
It was good value for money compared to a lot of other properties in the area.
The cost explains a lot of this but it doesn't mean it was enjoyable.
There was a number of cleaning issues and general disrepair in both the room and property.
Basic standards were missing like no bedside tables and the bedside lamps not working. Plus to open the window (only way of cooling the room) required standing on the tall window sill.
The walls were exceedingly thin and conversations could be heard easily from inside and outside of the room, and our location by a door meant slamming doors woke us throughout the night. Even the main road, with the window closed, sounded exceptionally close.
All in all, consider why you are booking the hotel and what you want as it'll work as a place to rest your head but it might be disturbed sleep.

Bedding/towels were clean and neat and tidy.
Parking seemed straightforward.
View was very nice, over harbour and out to sea.
Carpet etc a bit tired.
