Definetly be back

Everything was spot on. Host made sure we knew how to contact him if needed before arrival. Everything was explained perfectly on how to find our lodge also. The hot tub was amazing, it would be nice if adults could use it after 10pm however it's completely understandable why you can't with neighbours ect. Access to the property was stress free and easy, no receptions and forms ect just straight up to your lodge and get your keys from the box. The board games in the living room were a good touch. We also had a good view of the Loch! Towels, hair dryers, straighteners, iron, hover all provided

A on site shelter would have been ideal for smokers, but no to be expected.

Never got a response when making formal complaint

Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the accommodation did not meet the expected standards. Upon arrival, we noticed crumbs left in the kitchen area, unclean cutlery, and discarded wrappers around the lodge. In addition, the general cleanliness of the property, including the bedside tables and floors, was unsatisfactory. Given the standard we anticipated, this was disappointing. Furthermore, we were not informed that the hot tub would automatically switch off at 10 p.m. While we understand and respect the quiet zone policy, there was no prior notice indicating that the hot tub would become unusable at that time. In addition, there was no lighting provided around the hot tub area, making it difficult and potentially unsafe to enter and exit after dark.

Nice location but poor cleanliness

The location was incredible, just on the lake and with brilliant trails right behind the lodge. It was a good size and layout and it was nice to have a place with a hot tub and that it was dog friendly.

Overall felt tired and grubby, lots of crumbs in the kitchen, milk stains in the fridge, a tea bag stain on the counter. I ran everything through the dishwasher as much of the crockery didn’t seem clean. Settees stained, my son said he saw poo but I thought it must have been chocolate stains. Now that I’ve read previous reviews I see plenty of guests have spotted mouse droppings and I’m guessing that must be it. All but one of the soap dispensers were completely empty. Shower fixture didn’t hold shower head so you’d end up accidentally spraying all over the bathroom unless you held it. Bathroom doors didn’t lock and some windows didn’t were a struggle to close. Solar lights didn’t come on for the hot tub so we had to sit there in the dark and the hot tub itself had a layer of grit at the bottom and didn’t seem like it had been thoroughly cleaned in some time. Hot tub shut off 15 minutes before curfew. Finally, both of my children found what we believe are bed bugs on the final night we stayed (see pic). Never seen them before but found them in two of the beds. It seemed pointless to complain so late in the day, we’re home now and thoroughly washing everything we took with us. There’s a note asking you to leave a 5* review despite all of this. It could be such a lovely place but unfortunately as currently stands it falls well short of that.

Location was perfect, hot tub was amazing even though outside lights at hot tub didn't appear to work. The views were stunning.

The fact there was a few things broken on arrival door on both bathrooms one didnt lock abd the other one locked but was very hard to reopen due to broken lock, toilet roll holders a bit wobbly and we were a bit worried they were going to break and there was a broken window handle in one of the double rooms.

Very satisfied with our stay would definitely come again it was very roomy and perfect for a family holiday I will be bringing my kids next time .

Only thing was walking out the path to the hot tub wasn’t very private people from across the way can see you . Also no hand wash in any of the containers provided in both toilets and kitchen .

Relaxing lodge by Loch Lomond

Location was great incredible walks by the loch nearby. The hot tub was brilliant. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was good quality as were all the towels. Our family had a very relaxing time celebrating a birthday.

The locks on the bathrooms didn't work, the toilet roll holders were loose and the laminate flooring in the kitchen needs some sorting. Other than these small things every thing was great.

Absolutely fantastic

It is a great lodge we went for a girls weekend away, it’s very clean up to great standards, it’s got everything you need in it the hot tub area is great. It’s a quiet area with great restaurant and nice scenic walks around

There is nothing we can complain about this property, this was our second year in a row being here and we plan to come back next, we would recommend this place to anyone it is great

Ok but won’t be back

The lodge is in a lovely location not far from the water and surrounded by trees. The host had provided lots of board games and info about the area. The hot tub was lovely and the showers were amazingly powerful

The lodge was grubby and there was a smell of damp. The kitchen area especially the fridge, cooker and freezer were dirty and smelled badly. The carpets were stained as were the settees. The lodge was very close to a neighbouring lodge as in you could almost touch it which impacted on your privacy and we kept the curtains closed in the bedrooms that looked onto it.

Had a great stay!

Lovely lodge, nicely decorated and the surrounding area is beautiful. Great value for money compared to other properties we looked at that include a hot tub! We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub which was very spacious. There was plenty of so w for 5 of us and a sixth person could have fitted in. I liked that plastic champagne and wine glasses are provided so that you can still enjoy a drink in the hot tub without worrying about smashed glass.

Some of the windows don’t close including the room that is right beside the hot tub. Being able to shut the window would reduce the noise from the hot tub heaters at night.

Cleanliness & Rodent issues!

Great location in Balmaha, right next to the oak tree inn pub which is a lovely area.

Great location, but hygiene and maintenance were unacceptable The property was tired and poorly maintained, with several serious issues: Mouse droppings all over the living room sofa, which was extremely unhygienic No soap provided, which is a basic necessity Only one towel provided for each guest. No towels for the bathroom or hot tub. Broken shower, which made using the bathroom frustrating; overall a lack of care in cleanliness and upkeep We reported the mouse droppings to the owner. They initially responded but then stopped communicating entirely and never sent a cleaning crew. Very disappointing stay. We’ve raised the issue with Booking.com and hope they take action to prevent other guests from having a similar experience.

Asking if possible to strip beds was unacceptable to us due to v late check in and early check out. Shower gel in bathrooms would have been a bonus.

The lodge set up was fantastic, very spacious and clean. Perfect place for a little get away. Great location, easy to get in to the property and communication from the host prior to our stay was excellent.

The property is in a fantastic location and the surroundings are beautiful. The layout was great with plenty of room for the 3 of us and our dogs.

The property itself is a bit tired. Bed wasn’t comfortable, I felt like the mattress could be changed? We had a hot tub, however with it being open to the public, we felt like it could do with more privacy and high fence foot and lock so no one can get access other than whose who have booked the property. When my step child went to use the hot tub, there was empty glass bottles, which could be a hazard to her and my dogs. The owner was most apologetic for this. If dogs are staying I feel like a couple of separate towels could be provided especially when they are walking into the property just for a little clean down.

The location is perfect just in front of the loch. The hot tub outside was beautiful after a long day out. Kids loved to find some board games. Peaceful location (at least when we were there the neighbours were all quiet)

1. It was tricky to identify the exact lodge from the directions provided via email. We wandered around the lodges under the rain before finding the lock box that opened with the code we had. 2. No mat provided for the bathrooms. 3. One of the safety detectors (not sure if it was the smoke or CO2, or something else), bips nonstop, which means it's hard to fall asleep. 4. Despite there was a dishwasher we found dirty plates (so we ended up washing everything before using them) and there were no normal glass for drinking water. 5. One hair dryer for 2 bathrooms.

Location and space. Well decorated and equipped.

The hot tub ran all night and it kept me awake , we were told not to turn it off as it needed to be left on for filtration. However about midnight it started being really noisy and vibrating through the wall. Some instructions on how to stop this would be useful. There are only plastic glasses and , whilst we understand the reason for this, it was a shame .

Dirty hot tub.

The beds were comfortable. The location was beautiful. The onsite staff were so helpful and accommodating. We had hot tub issues and the onsite staff done what the could to rectify by offering us alternatives however due to some of our party being disabled we could not take up their offer.

When we arrived the hot tub was freezing dirty and smelly.. Noone came out to clean it until the next morning and by the time it was cleaned and refilled the water was still cold. Had to wait until 9pm for the water to be hot enough. Out of two days we had use of the hot tub for 1 hour due to it not being cleaned and ready for us arriving. I would recommend booking lodges for this site through balmaha lodges official page as they staff on site did try their best to rectify the situation, and their own lodge hot tubs were stunning. Would not book this private lodge again, the tub was disgusting. Avoid.

Wonderful location on the shores of Loch Lomond and very near coffee shop and pub/restaurant.
