Winter vacations....
Vacation at our vacation home. We’re located in 9585 Müllnern, a small Carinthian village on Lake Faaker See that belongs to the municipality of Finkenstein.
Our vacation apartments are very spacious (95 m²) and equipped with central heating. Apartment 2 also has a wood-burning stove in the kitchen-dining area with a viewing window to watch the fire—a romantic touch during the cold season when it’s snowing outside. Add a nice glass of mulled wine and maybe a board game, and your winter evening becomes an unforgettable experience. The spacious apartments are also perfect for children or your dog.
Our large garden is perfect for building a snowman or having a snowball fight. If you’re in the mood, you can even have a barbecue in winter—just set the sleds around the grill, get cozy, and have lots of fun.
During Advent, Villach’s Advent market—with mulled wine and Lebzelten (gingerbread)—is a treat for the nose and the palate, and a delight for the whole family. A tourist train runs through Villach and is great fun for the kids. Villach is especially magical on New Year’s Eve. The main square, with its many restaurants and bars, gets everyone in the festive spirit.
Velden has a special charm thanks to its casino. A highlight of any winter vacation is a visit to the casino (24 km). There’s also a casino in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) that’s well worth a visit (21 km).
Our vacation home is not far from the winter sports resorts. If you enjoy skiing or cross-country skiing, you’ll be there in no time. We have special areas in the Faaker See/Villach region for every winter vacationer.
Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, or taking a dip at the Kärntner Therme with its water slide… there’s something for everyone. Indoor riding arenas and tennis courts are also nearby.
Ski resorts:
You’ll find plenty of skiing fun on the Gerlitzen Alpe with the Kanzelbahn (14 km) or at the Dreiländereck (21 km). Tip: The Dobratsch (9 km) is ideal for ski tourers and winter hikers.
Cross-country ski trails:
Oberaichwald (8.2 km), Villacher Alpen Arena (6.1 km), Gerlitze (14 km), Dreiländereck (21 km), and many more...
Ice skating:
Lakes: Faaker See (6.9 km), Aichwaldsee (9.8 km), Silbersee (11 km).

A small, romantic stream (Seebach) flows through Müllnern, running through the village and along our property. Our garden has several fruit trees, which guests are welcome to pick from on their own in the fall. Our little stream is also a popular spot for a cool foot bath, or—when we’re enjoying a lovely barbecue evening in our natural garden—we like to chill our drinks in the stream. Sun loungers and a hammock strung between the apple trees are available free of charge.
There’s a doghouse in the garden for dogs looking for a shady or warm spot.
The property is enclosed by a privacy fence and gate, so cars and motorcycles are protected and not freely accessible to strangers. The apartments are ideal for vacationers who want to be among themselves, or for guests with children and dogs.
Our house has two stories and consists of three vacation apartments. Access to the apartments is via an outdoor staircase. For families or groups booking two apartments, there is the option to connect the apartments: an internal staircase connects Apartment 1 and Apartment 2.
We are nevertheless very centrally located and just a few minutes from Lake Faaker
