Good location but uncomfortable stay.

Very good location near pier, beach and restaurants / bars. There is also a hostel bar which is nice if you feel like being social.

Very uncomfortable rooms - I was in a dorm of 8 with no windows, air con comes on 5/6pm but before this it is virtually impossible to be in the room as it is like a sauna. Beds extremely old and creaky, if someone rolls over in the night it is likely to wake up the entire room. Towels and blankets smell of damp.

Its well located, close to the peer and has a great rooftop chill area.

We found traces of bed bugs on the pillow (the skin they shed when feeding). Not very inviting. We slept in our sleeping liners just in case and didnt get any bites.

Good hostel & well located in Koh Tao

The hostel is in a good location next to the pier. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I liked the social area across the road from the dorms which was lively in the evenings and a nice place to chill.

The beds were comfy but the top bunk was really noisy/creaky which can be disturbing in the middle of the night. The showers were okay but not the best/cleanest. One of the lockers we used was broken which isn’t ideal when it’s got valuables in there.

Everything great my mate got bedbugs

5 travellers from New Zealand/Netherlands, 1-4/1/26 Overall great hostel with an exceptional social area and very friendly, chill staff. Place was clean aside from bedbugs in my mates bed, hilarious for me would absolutely stay again as long as my luck continues. My female friend found some under her sheet and was like screw that and switched beds with him and they came and put some powder on the bed but that didn’t work - he got multiple bites on his legs and was itchy for the next couple of days. I’m sure he’s taken them off to infect another hostel…

Very happy return customer for one night, in a private room this time as stayed with a friend. Good facilities for a private room. Staff are super friendly, I already miss everyone!

I booked an extra 5 nights on top of my original 7, because it’s such a cool vibe, not too crazy partying but lots of social interactions, good games of pool, lovely staff, everyone is just so friendly. Feels like home, food is good, near to the pier too.

Sheets and towels could be cleaner and actually dry you, often cold showers.

Extended my stay at this welcome hostel.

From the minute I stepped in to Echo everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. Charlie was so helpful and all the staff have checked in on me, being 54 and a bit older, etc. The food is really good, the social aspect is really lovely, it feels like a family home here, so much so I’ve extended my stay by another 5 days. Easy location from the pier and a nice walk down in to the busier area of town. Laundry next door, plenty of bikes to rent, nice restaurants nearby too, and of course easy access for the beaches.

They need to move the sign about leaving luggage on the steps as it’s not really obvious when you go up the steps, needs to be right in front of you. Towels and bedding don’t always smell too fresh.

Nice social hostel, the communal area was lively qnd had a good atmosphere. The location was great and the dive school was perfect. The beds were comfy

Everything smelt of damp, mould on the walls and wooden clothes rail, the bedsheets and towels smelt damp, one of the showers pointed towards the wall and you couldn’t turn it around, it also did not get hot.

Close to the pier

The location is bad, if you want to go to sairee beach you need to walk 35-40 minutes. I ordered a private room and the smell in the room was not good. Also in the morning there was no light and the AC didn’t worked and when i walk to tell the staff they told me that’s an island and they can’t do anything. The price didn’t worth it.

Id book over and over again

Clean! Team is always keeping it neat, even if people start being messy. Location is just mindblowing. I cant say how happy i was to leave the ferry (thinking id need to go for a walk with my bags) and see the sign written ECHO right anove my head. 10/10. I really liked my bed and my room, I didnt leave for a month. Staff are all friendly, polite, extremely helpful. Also sunset from the the higest floor is beaaautiful. Luv you guys!

Amazing location, staff and food!

Loved the staff who were really friendly and helpful. The food was incredible and cheaper than anywhere else we ate during our stay in the island. And of course, the convenience of the location - it is literally a few mins walk from the pier.

A small point of feedback would be regarding the scent of the linens and hallways. While the bedsheets were spotless, and we were grateful the staff could change them on request, they had a distinct odor that wast to our preference. We also noticed a similar strong, musty smell in the hallway aswell. This is a minor point in otherwise a wonderful experience and we hope this feedback is helpful.

Decent hostel with a nice social area

Nice social area with plenty of seating, a pool table, bar/restaurant. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location was okay - 5 min walk from the port. Rooms were fine, clean and comfortable enough. Ignore the reviews about noravirus as this is no issue now :)

Brilliant staff and atmosphere but very poor dorm standards

Great staff: friendly and helpful! Gorgeous terrace and great vibes. Each dorm has its own bathroom facilities. Convenient location by the pier, beaches and one of the bars area.

Rooms and bathrooms need good maintenance and refurbishment works. Rooms are really stiffy and there’s no natural ventilation system. Uncomfortable Mattresses and pillows (mattress springs make also loud noise). Beddings and pillow smell stale/mould…terrible flannel blanket. Staff came regularly during the day, but probably should force guests to keep their belonging off the room floors (could hardly access my locker because of the mess!) so that the floors can be cleaned: my feet would get dark with dirt just by walking in the room. Could do with an area to dry clothes, as they don’t dry in the dorms.

Cutest hostel!! The roof top bar always had something going on and was a great way to meet people. Also the chef here is an absolute genius, everything was sooo yummy.

Bed curtains didn’t extend all the way across and the bathroom doors were a bit weird.

Super friendly hostel, comfy and clean.

The hostel was great! Super friendly vibes all round - especially from the owner Joelle and other staff including Sofia, Pierre and Danilo. All of the staff were always welcoming and willing to chat. The rooms were decent and beds were comfy. Fairly clean.

Rooms got a bit stuffy as only two very small windows - the AC was 2/3 over someone’s bed so blocked by their curtains when closed. There was a fan when we first arrived but this had been removed by the time we went to bed. Some curtains over the windows would be useful as my bed was right underneath so it let in all the light.

Good value for a cheap hostel

I liked how close this hostel was to the pier and some of the staff were lovely! Easy to check in and out and the common room was nice and chill

The room smelt a little damp or mouldy and the beds were not very comfy! Also there was one Thai man that worked at the bar he always seemed to be drunk or high and he was very rude!

Close to the port, clean, really social, ac 24/24. Female dorm is pitch black compared to the mixed that is sunny really early.

Loud music until 23-24h if in the dorm in the same building as the reception. Bed are not comfortable, but not the worst I’ve seen.

A home from home

The bar/restaurant area was so chill and the staff are all so welcoming and made my stay so good that I extended from a few nights to a few weeks 🤍 Stayed in the female dorm which was cosy and cleaned throughout the day, everyday. It also has a dive shop connected to it, who I will be doing my Advanced with yay!

The most uncomfortable bed ever, was like sleeping on a wooden plank. Fortunately the staff member found a mattress topper after a couple of nights which made it slightly bearable for our last 2 nights. Good location for the pier, however a bit far from the main tourist area in Ko Tao.

Great value for money

A great option for backpackers but I only used it as a day use. The receptionists are friendly, and the mixed dorm is simple but clean. The spacious common area is perfect for socializing. Located just a short walk from the main pier, it offers excellent value for money.

Staff were so friendly and I stayed in a all girls dorm and made some new friends, the property was so close to the good

Amazing location walking distance from the pier, Really Comfortable beds, slept so well, The breakfast was so affordable and really set you up for the day ahead.The restaurant bar has an amazing view and happy hour has super cheap drinks.Shower pressure was fantastic! Plus the rooms get cleaned everyday.

The top bunk beds had like no side so you could just fall out, stressful and not good if you were drinking! So dangerous! I was so worried about falling off. Myself and two others I met got really ill here, might be to do with the hostel or the island? But was not fun!

The location was great, as you hop off the ferry it was right there. The staff were lovely and the hang out area upstairs was really cool.

It was nice having our own bathroom off our room. However, there was no hook for the shower head so it just hung down which made it difficult to wash your hair. The toilet doors were difficult to close and were really loud. Also, the bathrooms shared a wall with the one next door so you could hear everything from the room next door.
