Nothing to say about that

Location, it was quiet in our room. Bed comfortable. Cafe on location was good. Helped with bike hire. Fridge in room. Large room.
Tiny windows you couldn’t see through opened on to a storage/bin area.

They clean the room every day and leave mineral water for drinking. It’s very close to the main pier and scooter rental places.
The facilities could use some renovation but it’s also doable the way it is
8.0 / 10.0
Basic beds didnt have privacy curtains but the upgraded rooms did. The AC was good and staff were so lovely and accommodating. Water jug! Also the balcony is a really nice hangout spot? Idk why everyone is complaining. Its not the most social but I found it very pleasant.
Would love some Curtains on the cheaper dorm room. More hot water showers would be great(only one on each side of the bathroom with two cold water showers per side)

I liked the cabin bed in the dormitory B, it was spacious and more intimate than others dormitories.
People are not really respectful in the dorms and speak loudly and late, make noise.
Maybe some rules could be instituted for everyone’s peace.
Also the floor in the shower is always wet, there is always stagnant water.
And some toilets are not working properly (same here, for the respect of the people who stayed)

Very nice room, nice food too
No complaints

Mountain view room is lovely!
I got lucky and had booked for a full moon so it was just wonderful to sit and watch.
Comfy bed and clean room.
Breakfast could be so much better and include at least a little bit of fruit?
6.0 / 10.0
Good rooms, decent food, nice atmosphere
No wi-fi or internet connection whatsoever in my room had to go to the lobby to get some connection, no room service for the whole 4 nights, careful what you pick on the menu. Either a solid 9/10 food or a solid 2/10 food

Outside of the busy center of koh tao
Clean big room
I let my bag for the day and offer me to take a shower when I take it back
Noise from other rooms (good ear plugs are provide) especially doors closing.
AC not so powerful. Fridge on the key holder.

Good view nice facilities inside
Shower is partially outside. Balcony was very small which wasn’t too much of an issue as there’s seating area out the front of the rooms.

Great location — just a 5-minute walk from the pier and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars. It’s about a 30-minute walk to Sairee Beach. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The bathroom being outside (though covered) was a bit unusual at first, but we got used to it quickly and I actually ended up really liking it.
They offer free snorkels to borrow and beach towels with a refundable deposit, which was super handy.
No matter where you stay on the island, I’d definitely recommend renting a scooter — everything is quite spread out.

The location and extremely large common areas.
They say it includes breakfast, but it's just bread with jam, which is kind of frustrating.

I stayed in the Boxtel part for 3 nights. The room was large and I liked the space next to my bed for my stuff. I also liked the bathroom, it was also large and comfortable as opened from the room. There was also hairdryer which is a big pro for me. The whole place was nice, peaceful and good to arrive to at the end of the day.
The only con is the location, but I wouldn't say it was a big problem, it's just away from the vibrant downtown (30 mins walk), but very close to the ferry station.

Really good place, u have space, tv is great not far from the bed. Bed is good. Not far from the pier.
Water and toilet paper every day. Maybe too much toilet paper XD.
No cleaning room service.

The staff and location
We didn’t have much space in our private room or place to put our clothes/luggage
10.0 / 10.0
White Jail was really great, amazing location, very nice rooms. We stayed at private room in first floor, it was big and comfortable with a little balcony. If you have a longer visit (we stayed 8 nights), you can just ask for your room to get cleaned any time you want. You also get free water every day. The staff is also very nice, they let us leave our luggage there for free because we came with the overnight ferry and had to wait for our room to get ready, and we could just chill at the back and drink some free coffee. They also let us extend our check out for one hour which was really convenient.
In regard to the loud music from the next door Rasta Baby bar - there is nothing left from this bar anymore, it was literally torn down so this is not a problem anymore 😉 Across the street there is a bar Tipsy Turtle which has “loud” music almost every night but nothing earplugs couldn’t solve (they give them to you if you ask) so this was no trouble at all.

The private room was very clean. Shared toilets were very clean as well

It’s a nice hostel, the staff are helpful and friendly. They gave me extra blankets and a new pillow when I asked and the location is good.
The reason it doesn’t get a higher score is because we booked the 10 bed dorm and once we got here to our surprise it’s a 20 bed dorm!! I wouldn’t have minded if we knew in the first place. Other than that surprise it was a good stay.

Decent amount of space in the boxtel
Big toilets and showers (separate thankfully)
Nice staff
Good location
Lots of moped parking space
Nice communal areas
Free tea, coffee and toast for breakfast
In the corner of the room with aircon set to 22 i was too hot and had no fan airflow on me.
The curtain shut keep the heat in even more.
Top bed is missing a side curtain so you get light come in from other people’s pods that you can’t block. Pick bottom bed if you can

Very helpful staff. Near to ferries. You can book ferry tickets from nearby place, rent bike, rent snorkeling mask, and then easily explore beaches.

The terrace was nice and spacious and they had a jenga, music from next door didn’t bother us.Room was small but we had a kettle and a working ac. The shared bathrooms were always and they had many shower cabins. Location was great everything you need including 7-eleven and scooter rentals in walking distance. Staff was nice and always friendly. Cafe infront is really yummy
Everything was great

it was very close to the centre of town, and it was cheap, clean and easygoing to stay at. the dorms had AC, free drinking water, free snorkels, books and balls, and the cafe out the front was convenient.
the bed was a bit hard, and if you don’t like bugs you should probably not stay here. i don’t mind bugs, but the outside showers and toilets make good hideouts for creepy crawlies

Near the pier, restaurants and other stores
The bar next door very loud until really late. During the whole day it has music so no moment of silence. Neither im the room or on the chill areas. No curtains for the bed. Not enough space to display your items and luggage
4.0 / 10.0
Comfortable beds, big private rooms with fresh toilets, close to restaurants and scooter rentals.
The welcome was like coming to an actual prison, less friendly probably. Don't know what their deal was that day but they were really rude with a bad attitude towards us for no reason.. That really ruined the stay for us and they were rude at check out again so you know what? Here's a bad rating for you.

They serve breakfast,
they gave deposit back so are honest
Noisy, dirty, floors, nasty bathrooms, smelt damp in dorm,
the whole interior of dorm room n bathroom looks creepy,
woman in reception dry, zero smile, hateful look

Comfortable beds and super clean bathrooms.
Not very good common room to socialise

Hang out area with hammocks. There is a bar next door which is loud until early hours but a good vibe - so bear that in mind when booking. Close to the pier therefore convenient for coming straight off of the ferry.
Big gap at bottom of door allowed any bugs inside. The room walls themselves could have been cleaner.

Great location. I stayed in the private room for 10 days and it was amazing.
Come here often, great staff always wanna help with everything.
Nothing to complain in Thailand overal. Its Thailand.
7.0 / 10.0
great facilities! clean and comfortable and nearby to some great food places, central town, the pier, as well as en route to some beautiful beaches.
right next door to an awesome bar/hangout spot on the island called Baby Rasta - recommend! but if you’re after decent sleep, they play super loud tunes into the early morning and ear plugs don’t block it out… good to keep in mind when you book :)

Clean, kind staff. Good location near the pier ❣️
1.0 / 10.0
there was air conditioning in the rooms
had absolutely horrible sleep quality all the nights that I stayed here, not only because of the loud bar music that goes on until 1AM (which they do warn us about it before paying), but also the lack of curtains (which we were not warned about) that essentially means any light from either the person next to you in the room, or outside, can come through and disturb your sleep. So I was never able to sleep before 1AM (because of the bar music) and I was always waking up at 6 AM when the sun rose, because there were no curtains to block the light coming in through the doors. Doesn’t help that the door is a sliding glass door that lets in lots of sunlight.
