Fiona’s warmth. Felt at home right away. A lovely Scottish home. The quality of everything from food to furnishings. Fun interacting with Fiona’s cute new puppy.

Everything was excellent. The breakfast was way over any expectations that we had. Fresh eggs cooked to order. One morning I had smoked Trout and the next morning was smoked Haddock. Different cereals available along with bread and pastries. Various wonderful spreads with the pastries.
Fiona knows just about every person in the area and made great recommendations.
The room was clean and comfortable. If we ever stay on Islay again I would definitely stay at Lake Gorm House.

Beautiful and luxurious bedrooms with every detail well thought out. Bathroom in the main bedroom was the largest I’ve ever seen, with stand alone bath and walk in shower. Lovely views from bedrooms.
Fresh flowers in the rooms with ample choice of drinks, and fresh water and milk flasks topped up daily.
Soft and comfy feather bedding.
The attention to detail in this place is superb an the owner went out of her way to surpass expectations, from ensuring we had a real fire lit in the lounge after our day trips, to surprising my husband (birthday boy) with Bucks Fizz at breakfast.
Breakfast incredible with more choice of fresh food than at most hotels and beautiful home cooking.
Fiona the owner is an organiser and knows practically everyone on the island. Let her advise you on where to eat, good places to visit and taxi companies. She was very helpful and thoughtful too.
