Deception

Location, decoration, breakfast and service at reception.

It feels more like a 3-star experience than a 5-star one. They really need better attention to detail, especially in housekeeping, which is quite disappointing for a brand-new hotel that only opened a few months ago. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, there were a few spider webs, the inside of the closet was very dusty, and some of the snacks were out of date — basic things that should be checked every time the room is serviced.

Very nice for a short break

Location is great, right in the heart of Portrush on the Main street, within easy walking access to everything.

The room was a little dark even with the lights on, but thats a very small thing, There is no car park (that we seen) so a little walking was involved, but again we didn't mind.

Beautiful to look at but room was a sauna.

Gorgeous hotel and design. Lovely amenities and stunning attention to detail. The whole property is a feast for the eyes.

It’s a historic hotel and they’re not allowed to put AC in some rooms. Our room was boiling hot in September, even with it being rainy and cold outside and keeping our window open around the clock. We weren’t able to sleep at all…just laid in bed both nights in our own sweat. I can’t imagine how miserable it would have been in the heat of summer.

Hotel staff were really nice and helpful and couldn't have done more for us during our stay. The room was super cosy and really spacious. The hotel is very centrally located so the whole town is easily accessible. Breakfast and food was absolutely delicious.

There could be some entertainment in the bar in the evenings, as it was quite quiet in there. Parking is not always the easiest, and you may have to park a few minutes walk away.

Our time spent in the smaller cities of Ireland made the entire trip that much more enjoyable.

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.

The property has been beautifully renovated. Having stayed here many times before Marine and Lawn purchased it, I can’t believe how much it has changed. The decor is very on trend and looks very high end.

Obviously lack of a car park is an issue, particularly if you’re staying in peak season. A few teething problems which I’m sure will be addressed as staff gain experience. It was obvious that they were under pressure during breakfast service as a lot of guests arrived at the same time. Everything was very tasty but the wait was too long. The staff were very friendly throughout and continually apologized for the delay.

Luxurious setting and great food

We stayed here for my husbands birthday 🎂 the hotel kindly gave us an upgrade on the room 102 which was beautiful. Our breakfast was also amazing with local food and presentation in afternoon tea style was lovely touch.

Parking has to be in a side street as no official hotel parking and unfortunately with the hotel being on a Main Street there was a lot of road noise after midnight from cars racing which is a pity for such a beautiful hotel

we stayed here in the past and loved it but we were very disappointed and would not return

staff friendly, bed comfortable, good location for beach and restaurants

we were told the room was ready, but when we entered the room was not ready, there was a dog bed and dog bowls in the floor, room very dark decor, found it depressing , nowhere in the bathroom to set toiletries, service in the bar was very slow, 20 minutes to wait on a drink in the evening. breakfast was ok, portions very small and sausages were pale could have been cooked, again slow service, not enough staff.

Amazing Welcome. Joan, Kelly and Steven made the difference for us. The attitude towards us bringing our dog was great. They could not have been more accepting and accommodating. Room was cosy, welcoming and comfortable.

The room was hot, no AC the fan provided was full of dust, some dirty socks under the bed, out of date crisps in the mini bar, the room was newly refurbished but some one mixed the water taps in the bathroom, blue was hot and red was cold. I would expect mutch better for that kind of money. I will not be returning.

Beautifully located and decorated little hotel. I chose it as it was dog friendly! And they really were.

Finding parking on the street is very difficult as the town is so busy and mainly one way system in operation.It is patrolled by parking inspectors so I had to move my car frequently and I found it difficult to transport the luggage to the hotel as I could get parking anywhere close by!

Very good location. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good.

Quirky architecture in the attic room (401) meant you couldn‘t stand up beside the bed or in the middle of the room. Furniture was designed for children ( or perhaps Leprechauns). Hard to read the on-screen TV guide. Shower fittings were a disaster, no handles or shower mat or instructions. In short, antique furnishings did not compensate for efficient function, especially at this price.

The dining room is beautifully decorated, staff lovely, friendly and helpful, fried breakfast tiny if you remove the large tomato and mushroom, i would prefer a more filling fry than the stand they bring out, i ate very little at breakfast, did not have any main meals as they barely had any choice and it is crazy expensive, also not good for people with stomach issues who just want a normal dinner like the old days adelphi who's food was amazing, breakfast sausage was cheap like dennys, i could not eat my egg today as it was very undercooked, scarily so. We had a large spacious room but very dark walls, bathroom was lovely but no showercap. No clean teacups or tea left for second day. Hotel immaculately clean, pity they removed the spa. Its maybe a bit too upperclass for me!! Very expensive to stay in aswell. But there has been a lot of work put into the place but i preferred it before, cosy, and beautiful reasonable priced food. The best things about it was the staff and how helpful they were in the breakfast room. Do not think i would stay here again

Walls too dark, food not great, no clean tea cups left after first day, stingy with the tea too, everything packed into an already small wardrobe. Would prefer not to have the cake stand of things they bring to breakfast table and no large tomatoes and mushroom to make the plate look full. Very expensive to stay in for what you get in return. We paid £400 odd for 2 nights on a deal with booking.com it would have normally been over £600

Hotel itself is beautiful, but staff need better support/training to come out of their shells.

Felt very luxurious, while still comfortable. Lovely welcome and a free upgrade that was a nice surprise! Good food in the restaurant and a really nice breakfast.

Like some other reviews stated, mainly young restaurant staff members that were clearly not confident and untrained - made for some awkward moments! Also, we felt a few of the finer details were missed that you would expect in a luxurious hotel - ungarnished drinks.

Clean and recent refurbishment. Nice breakfast and very polite service in restaurant.

Rooms very hot and no aircon. Very little hanging space. About a foot for two people.First room dark and industrial fans outside window so you choose; Sweat or open windows and listen to extractor fans. If you open windows you have to have blinds down or birds get in apparently. Receptionist could have handled our difficulties more politely.
