St Columba Hotel

I liked the location, the lounge, the garden. It felt very homely and the staff were very friendly even giving us a lift to the pier to catch our boat.

I was sad that we couldnt stay any longer. Ill know for next time please God.

A bit of sound proofing between rooms would be good.

I had a wonderful stay here and would happily give it 10/10. I was travelling alone and had a single room, which was very comfortable, with a lovely bed and an excellent shower. The location is exceptional, just a few steps from the Abbey. Staying here almost made me feel like a character in a book, waking up in such an atmospheric place. And speaking of books, the choice in the room was perfect for Iona, it is a Bible and a Celtic guide to sacred places. Exactly what you would expect to find on your bedside table here, right? Breakfast was amazing, with an excellent full Scottish breakfast, and I also really enjoyed having dinner at the hotel restaurant with lovely view. They use local products, including vegetables grown in their own organic garden and fresh fish. Everything I tried was delicious. The people working at the hotel were genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. I also bought a bottle of their St Columba gin, made with botanicals from the hotel’s garden, and it was excellent — a lovely little gift from Iona to take home.

Everything was very good. The only small addition I would have appreciated would be a little fridge in the room.
