Very easy once finding cottage and parking. Not a real issue

Lovely cottage right near the town

The location was brilliant for our short stay in the Lakes. It gave a real sense of being in a cosy bolt hole. The downstairs (bedrooms and bathrooms) was well laid out, light and spacious. The living area was comfortable and I enjoyed sitting at the dining table by the large windows watching the world go by. The private parking space was helpful but there is plenty of on street parking. Walking to the cafes and shops was easy with a great choice of places for breakfast. Rear access made loading the luggage into the house much easier than from the parking space. I’d certainly stay here again.

The main issue, which is seen ln other reviews is the damp. This did not affect us whatsoever. It was hot and sunny for our entire stay. There were extra radiators and a dehumidifier in one of the bedrooms to tackle the issue. There are some remedial issues that need to be addressed. There is a gap between the tiles and the shower tray. But the shower tray is solid. Hopefully not leaking. The outside space needs renewing. The steps to the garden are not solid. One of the deck boards on the top is loose. The bannister would not help if someone tripped and fell against it. The small space outside was not welcoming. New furniture and a gardener to tidy the space is needed. I would want a larger or improved outside space for a longer stay. Honestly, the issues i found, I could repair quickly and effectively, this is half a mornings work for the right handy man/woman.

Great location, room sizes and layout. Everything was clean and tidy.

The owners are clearly battling with damp and you can smell it when in the twin bedroom and have dehumidifier in there. They are definitely trying their best with this issue and nothing looked dirty or mouldy. However I was hesitant allowing our children to stay in there and feel it would be useful to get informed of this in advance as I imagine some families where they have youngsters with asthma or other respiratory related issues would not be willing to stay there.
