About this cottage rental

Beautiful, traditional lakeland slate cottage located in the centre of Bowness village but only a 5 min walk to the shores of Lake Windermere and all its facilities, such as restaurants, pubs and shops. This cottage has 2 bedrooms consisting of one spacious double and one twin room, plus a recently refitted luxury bathroom. Downstairs, there is a spacious, lounge with gas stove and French doors leading out onto a sunny, secure patio with decking. Next to the lounge is a fully equipped, modern, kitchen leading into a breakfast room. There is also a formal dining room to the front of the house. The cottage is ideally located in the centre of Bowness and has a parking permit for free parking. FREE Wi-fi and PETS WELCOME.
As well as a National Park, the Lake District received worldwide recognition when granted World Heritage Status by UNESCO! Something we are extremely proud of.

Ideal location. Cottage like a tardis as does not look big from outside. Managed to park ok with permit. Probably needs touching up decorating wise but will not put me off returning soon.

This rental is in the heart of Bowness which is adjacent to the larger Windermere. Bowness has everything for a lovely stay -- ferries, restaurants, trail access and a movie theater, among other things. The cottage is a two bedroom with living room, kitchen and small eating area, and a front room used as a study. The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need to prepare a meal. The cottage furniture is well maintained, and the bed comfy. Parking is available in front of the property, on a narrow lane -- we found a spot and then didn't use the car for the rest of our stay. Communication with the owner was very good. A lovely place to spend a holiday.

We've stayed at Growler cottage a few times now. Always a lovely stay. Great location to get to the hills for the day and then a walk into the town on an evening. The cottage is well equipped and lovely gesture of the dog biscuit tin for a little pooch. Will be staying again.

Lovely cottage on the edge of Bowness, a couple of minutes walk to the centre with plenty of pubs and restaurants and the marina. Clean and comfortable for our 4 night stay and a parking permit was provided.

First visit to this cottage and we were not disappointed. Good location, situated within walking distance of all amenities. The cottage was well equipped, spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and hope to visit again.

Great cottage for a break in the lakes. Very well located in walking distance from restaurants and shops, only a short walk to the lake. The cottage was actually bigger than we expected and a great size for 4 people. Would recommend.

Had a lovely stay for two nights (not long enough), 4 ladies of a certain age and dog. Excellent location. Everything in the cottage you could wish for even bowls towel treats etc provided for dog. The cottage looks small from the outside but the rooms are perfect for four people, and the cottage is bigger than you think. We hope to return thank you Tracey.

Brilliant location and we didn’t want for anything in the cottage. Lovely high standard and Tracy was so helpful and accommodating. We were due to travel home when storm Ciara arrived. We were offered the cottage longer until safe to travel home. So lovely to do that. We would love to visit again.

Me and my partner stayed here for 4nights over New Year and it was a great stay for us. Lovely personal touches for us and both our dogs. The cottage had a great amount of space and was really cosy. We would definitely stay again and the location is just perfect, we are frequent travellers to the lakes and this has been our best base yet.

My wife, 3 year old daughter and I had a fantastic stay at the cottage. We make the trip to Bowness once a year and have stayed in multiple properties across the area, but this was by far the best. Starting with the location - you're in the heart of Bowness with everything being a few mins walk away. The property is well equipped with everything you may need (my daughter especially loved the kids crockery set) and is really cosy to return back to after a busy day out and about. My only gripe was the shower/shower curtain but that's more of a personal taste thing. Tracy was very responsive when we needed to get hold of her and was a fair host to deal with. All in all - great cottage, great host and we would definitely stay there again

A lovely cottage on the edge of Bowness, ideal for walking into Windermere or further afield. We walked up to Orrest Head, over the top and round back by Troutbeck and along the edge of the lake, then stopping for a bite to eat at The Albert. Plenty of dog friendly places in Bowness so you don’t need to leave your furry friend at home! Will definitely look to stop here again.

We booked to see Peter Rabbit live so this cottage was a perfect location for that. Lovely, cosy little cottage. Cean and tidy and well kitted out. No problems at all. We stayed with 2 young children (2 and 5) and had everything we needed.
