Nicely decorated but housekeeping could be improved

Well heated. Nice bath in one bathroom.

A block of flats is being built next door so there is considerable construction noise. Lots of people walk past the apartment and their voices are clearly audible inside. Cleanliness and maintenance could be improved eg. Toaster was so full of crumbs it was a fire hazard and kitchen drawers need a good clean. Handle to ensuite door not properly attached and fell right off. One bedroom is just a space divided from the kitchen by sliding doors. No soundproofing so no privacy. Had to pay extra for car parking even though the space is on the property.

Shower pole in bathroom was rusty. Couldn't use the bath as the plug didn't stay in. Door handle in bathroom was loose. Tap to operate shower in shower room didn't work and was loose. Didn't look like it had been cleaned. Crumbs on carpet, food still in cupboards and freezer.

Another fabulous stay

This was our 4th stay ( I think) , The Workshop provides everything and is so stylish, 2 lovely comfortable double beds, 2 bathrooms with lovely hot showers and beautiful big white towels, a kitchen that I would just love to have st home and a huge comfortable living area. Location wise it couldn’t be better, 4 or 5 minutes easy walk into the town but far enough away that there’s no noise.

Great location, poor facilities but suited our needs for the one night, quite expensive.

Location was just what we wanted. The coffee machine was a welcome addition.

Lack of WiFi. Poor replacement 4g WiFi kit which wouldn’t work 75% of the time. Main shower didn’t work, no hot water. Settee was too low.

A lovely home, but some issues.

On a rainy day in September, the property was warm and welcoming. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils, glassware, cutlery, etc. The beds were also firm and comfortable. The location of the property was great! Slightly outside of the city centre but everything was within easy walking reach.

Sadly, during our stay, we had a few issues. We arrived and found pools of water on the kitchen floor. Although we mopped this up, small pools of water kept appearing around the island (likely due to the freezer door being left open prior to our arrival). As the night continued, and we wanted some cool air, we found that we could not open the windows downstairs and we did not have a key to the French doors in the bedroom. The rooms were very warm and the fans simply pushed warm air around the room. The WiFi did not work. And the property itself was quite dusty. There were many spider webs in the corners of the room and in between the low hanging light fixtures. These are normally issues I would overlook, but as we’d paid quite a lot for the property, I sadly couldn’t overlook them. I would happily stay at the property again, so long as it was less than half the price I’d paid (so out of season).

Beautiful property, immaculately clean, extra special touches, excellent location, comfortable beds, everything you could want in accommodation in York.

The only issue was that the wifi didn’t work. Small problem and would rebook here in a heartbeat.

An exceptional stay, spotlessly clean, perfectly located, and true to the photos.

Every detail was exactly as shown in the photos, clean, beautiful, and well-maintained. The property was very close to the train station and city centre. The staff were friendly, and the place had everything we needed.

We were all very satisfied with the property and are planning to come back again. One thing that could be improved is that one of the beds was quite noisy, which woke us up every time we moved. Also, the glasses and water had an unpleasant smell.

The location was excellent

The oven didn’t work, we reported this on the Friday ( second day )of our stay The freezer was ice bound, so clearly hadn’t been checked prior to our arrival The parking arrangement was unusual, we were asked to pay for this as cash locally, whilst this meant that we were able to park our car very close to the accommodation, we also found that other vehicles were parked equally close, on one occasion blocking our vehicle in and on another across much of our front door hampering access.

Great location, lovely place.

The location was terrific. The host was exceptionally helpful and very quick in answering questions over the app. The place was decorated really nicely and had a great home away from home feel. Lots of great amenities, the coffee machine was great.

The cleaning could have been a bit better, while the sheets and towels were wonderfully bright and clean, the bed throw looked a bit dirty. (I never like things that aren't cleaned regularly, like decorative throws and pillows). Kitchen table was sticky, like it hadn't been wiped before we got there. Freezer needs a good defrost! Tops of pendant lamps really dusty. But it wasn't a deal-breaker everything else was really nice.

Stylish apartment on two floors within easy walking distance of city

Well renovated, spacious property with lovely first floor reception room.

Small step down into kitchen, steps down into bedroom 2. Potential trip hazards - might have been better to have got the builders to level the ground floor? Small details missed - all the mugs were stained (rinsed rather than properly washed?); the sofa hadn’t been vacuumed; the kitchen soap dispensers were nearly empty; the property was chilly were we arrived and no guidance about how to reset the heating was given.

Surrounded by cars using rental parking spaces and no outdoor sitting chairs available on patio. Grout on both bathroom floors applied in very messy manner in a home otherwise shining in appearance. Information book did not cover how to operate washer/dryer.

Home away from home.

I love how cosy and inviting it is the second you walk in. I’ve stayed at the workshop a couple times with my mum, and each time it has never disappointed! The staff are friendly, accommodating, easy to contact and extremely helpful. The location is the perfect distance from the cathedral and the rest of the city centre.

The property is even nicer than it looks in the photos! Spacious and decorated and designed amazingly! Its really close to the town centre and the river, so perfect location. There’s also 2 parking spaces available (which you need to pay separately for)

A little welcome pack in the kitchen would be handy - just a couple of dishwasher tablets, washing up sponge and tea towel maybe.

Feel was a bit overpriced.

Very modern & clean.Kitchen facilities good with plenty of utensils etc.Staff very welcoming & friendly.

No opening windows throughout, apart from upstairs lounge had velux openers.Wasn’t enough information regarding use of tv or kitchen items etc.For price- should have some milk in fridge & plain coffee. Metal bed frame squeaky- along with doors.
