What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful old house! It felt like a very special place to be, perfect for celebrating my mum’s 70th birthday. Coming in from the cold and standing in front of the Aga was a bonus.
Staying away from home with a baby and a five year old will always have it’s challenges, the extreme creakiness which adds to the charm of such a historic property did create a bit of kids bedtime stress, but that was the only negative I can think of and it would not put me off staying again.
