Fabulous, rural location near Hadrian's Wall with amazing views. Well equipped kitchen, everything clean, comfortable and warm (we stayed in February). Andrew, the owner was very friendly and helpful.
Sitting area was quite small but it had amazing views to make up for it - you can lie on the sofa and gaze over the hills!

The host waited to meet us to hand over the keys at midnight. Very easy and good communication.

We loved the quiet, relaxed farm location, the proximity to so many wonderful places and activities, the kindness and friendliness of the people there. The house was gorgeous, comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed, there was nothing we had to ask for extra etc… such a beautiful place!!!

The property is very comfortable for a family of 4. The kitchen facilities were great for self catering. Our host Andrew was very helpful. We really enjoyed visiting the local pub - Twice Brewed Inn.

Perfect base to see Hadrian's Wall. Moderate hike to the wall itself and a short drive to Haltwhistle. Dog friendly too.

Loved everything. Very friendly, stunning location and incredibly clean.
We went with friends and discovered a lot of the local area. Such a friendly place to be and the kids fell in love with Poppy the dog 🐕
Everything was spot on

Peaceful and quiet location in the country (on a farm) very close to Hadrians wall. Beautiful sunsets and great access to many places of interest in the area.
The water had a very high Iron concentration so smelt and tasted strange for those of us used to the town supply. Also as it was in the countryside, the wifi was very slow compared to what we are used to.

the loaction was great - less than a km from the wall, The view over surroundinng countryside was beautiful. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and the dog was well received.
the neighbours dog was a bit yappy and you could hear their TV through the lounge wall - i expect they could hear ours too.

Quiet, rural location. Excellent location for Hadrian’s Wall & its’ attractions. Very clean.
No enclosed, or any garden, for dogs. Settees very uncomfortable. Lounge really only big enough for 3 adults. Welcome/info folder needs updating.

The quiet location, friendly neighbours and other holiday guests made our stay even more enjoyable.
The farm track was a bit potholey although appreciate that this was just an access route rather than the responsibility of the cottage owner. The area for parking cars was fine with sufficient space to turn around.

Property was very clean, location was excellent (being close to all the main Hadrian wall attractions and walks) and well equipped

Very clean and fresh looking.
Not enough lighting in the kitchen area. Beds in twin and single rooms very uncomfortable. Bath leaks from waste. Toilet flush not working properly. Outhouse for washing machine very cramped and damp, no instructions on how to use the tumble drier.

The location is good with plenty to do for a short-medium 4-6 day stay. Plenty of nice walks, beautiful English countryside and Hadrian's wall (if that's your thing) is close by. There are a few pubs/restaurants nearby and the newly opened visitor centre The Sill, is a wonderful building, with a visitors centre, shop and cafe staffed by knowledgable and helpful staff. The view from the top sititing area is good, spectacular even, when the sun goes down.
All the beds were comfortable and the two downstairs bedrooms were very cosy. There is a very fancy bath, and a lovely downstairs shower too.
You ajoin the next door cottage with another cottage right in front of you. Combined with thin walls it means you can hear almost everything going on in the nextdoor cottage. There are quiet hours but one night the people next to us were listening to loud music 'till Midnight. This may be an issue if you are early risers! The kitchen/dining area did feel a bit looked into, to.
Bewary that the main bedroom has sloped ceilings (as does the top bathroom) so headbanging is a potential issue for taller guests!

Beautiful country side all around, peaceful setting and the property has everything you will need.
Sofa was very uncomfortable! And The beds were uncomfortable, large double too hard for me.

Fantastic setting - beautiful scenery to look out on from living room and great to be so near Hadrian’s wall
Lounge a bit small and parking was a slight challenge. Otherwise a great property

The house was very clean and comfortable with all mod cons. The way the house was laid out was excellent with wonderful views from the upstairs living room. Lovely spacious main bedroom. The property is quite remote and incredibly quiet. Comfortable beds. Very pleasant place to be. Welcome pack and information about the area and things to do.
The holiday cottage is one of 2, next door to each other. The owners bungalow is directly in front of these properties with a place to park in between and gardens around. The view from downstairs therefore is of cars and a house. Also lots of farm buildings. None of this was a problem for us but it might not be ideal for some people. Kitchen could do with more of everything and filter coffee maker produces very weak coffee. No radio or music system.

Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The house was squeaky clean and well equipped and organised, everything clearly labelled and easy to find. A quiet location with utterly stunning views, fabulous walks and a comfortable base for Hadrian's Wall walks. We loved watching the swallows and other birds swooping and walking from the property.
Great for Hadrian's Wall, River Tyne walks and bits of the Pennine Way. Kielder Water was an hour's drive with wonderful lakeside and woodland walks and fabulous birdlife. Nice meals at Twice Brewed pub. Easy reach of Hexham, Haltwhistle and Allen Banks. We loved it.
Apart from slight smell in downstairs shower room everything was great.

Host Julie was incredibly welcoming and helpful
Inadequate sound proofing with next door cottage as we could hear their TV when we were talking
Seating area is really a landing area (albeit with wonderful views) that only suits 2 people and we struggled with 4 adults and a baby

Very friendly and helpful hosts
Minor quibble: could be better sound proofing with adjacent cottage

The best thing was the view from the lounge area on the landing. The huge picture windows beautifully showed off the landscape & we loved sitting there in the evening watching the gorgeous sunsets.
Everything is beautifully clean, plenty of crockery, very comfortable beds, excellent cooking facilities, great welcome pack & on site washing machine made it a home from home-but in a spectacular setting! Add to that its location about a 2 minute drive from Hadrian's Wall.
The friendly welcome both at Roman Heights and everywhere we went in the area means a return visit is definitely in the offing and Roman Heights will be at the top of our list.

Loved the location for walking Hadrian's Wall and enjoyed the BBQ in the garden.

Cottage was lovely, clean, had everything you could want and was nicely decorated. Cottages are the mirror image of each other.. owners were very helpful and let us have a fire & bbq, cows kept kids entertained..
The pictures led us to believe u were on the land privately but the owners cottage was straight facing ours.. if u don’t like cows there’s a herd aprox 10 meters from our cottage but didn’t make to much noise.
