Absolutely wonderful views

Wonderful views, apartment is in the heavenly Gimmelwald, most authentic village in switzerland, its a farm village, my kids enjoyed every bit of this village. Apartment is absolutely perfect, just next to cable car station, very beautiful and clean apartment, apartment have all the needed facilities like kitchen etc. They have also honesty shop for ice cream, i can even visit again just to eat the ice cream, best in the world so far. Host is very welcoming and nice. I will definitely return to this place again.

Close to the bahn, close to restaurants options, comfortable room, helpful staff, did our laundry, Gimmelwald was a highlight of our 21 day trip.

A wonderful place to stay

The room was lovely. Everything was very clean. Beautiful views. Quiet. Very close to the cable car. It was nice to spend time with other travelers in the communal kitchen. We loved everything about it and were sorry to leave.

Good, but be prepared for expensive breakfast

It was too late to order breakfast for the following day so we asked for a single loaf of bread, jam and honey. At checkout we were charged $50, which is the most expensive loaf of bread Ive ever had.

Loved the quiet little village of Gimmelwald. Esther's is the 1st guesthouse from the gondola which made it easy to transport luggage. Fransiska & Tobias were wonderful hosts! We needed dirty clothes laundered & things hung dry & it was all done for us when we came back after a day of hiking. There's a delicious selection of local ice cream & gelato in a little honest pay store in the front yard that we enjoyed. Breakfast was good & the room was large. The bathroom was tiny, but adequate with good water pressure. Loved the stay.

A nice guesthouse with awesome views

Spacious attic room. I like that we had to take off our shoes to get to the room. It kept the place clean. The kitchen was very spacious. Although our room was at the attic, the kitchen on the 2nd floor gave us a nice break carrying big luggage. The staff were very welcoming and helped us carry our big bags to our room. My friend and her husband who stayed in a double room were very happy that when she opened her door, there was the kitchen. It felt like home.

We thought the breakfast was extremely overpriced for what was offered. it was good but it consisted of cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereal and fruit, all items that are typically part of a free continental breakfast at other restaurants. For $16 franks there should have been at least hot eggs and meats, at a minimum.

Excellent hosts and staff that were so very helpful. Our room overlooked the mountains…it can’t get any better than that! We appreciated the porch to sit and enjoy the scenery and talk with other guests. Easy access to the tram.

One of the best vacations of my life! I loved staying there and would come back in a heartbeat!

Very happy with my stay! The owners were so helpful and accommodating! The place was very clean and looked great. The owners were very kind and so quick to help once I realized my phone adapter didn’t work with Swiss electric outlets. They found an adapter immediately even though it was past 10pm. I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast because I left the hotel early every morning.

Amazing property, very well organised and cured. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable and no dust around (at least, not enough to trigger my allergy). Nice and friendly staff.

The shower: it was not possible to hang the shower head at a proper comfortable high.

The room is sufficient size for solo travellers. Great view of the mountains from my room! Shared facilities are surprisingly very clean and kept neat and tidy. Anyone who has stayed in a hostel or share house would know that the bathrooms and kitchen are usually quite ugh, although cleanliness issues are usually due to user problems. Thankfully, the other guests (mature couples) during my stay are very considerate. I shared a bathroom with a couple from another room and did not have any issues. Able to cook in the shared kitchen and didn't have to wait long for a turn since I only met 2 couples during my stay. A number of free-to-use condiments (e.g. jam) provided. Coffee machine with coffee pods. Co-use room slippers provided.

Very early check out (by 9:30am). Can sometimes be difficult to find the host since she's not stationed at a desk but moving around the house doing her duties.
