"So authentic, away from the hoards of vacationers nestled in a community of 199 residents. Pastoral treks of goat herders taking over the street several times daily. Now that’s bucolic!"

Staff were super nice. The breakfast was very good and the evening meal of a high quality.
The bus went directly from the hotel to the gondola up to Mürren.
Separate bathroom and toilet.

Loved the authentic set up in the valley, easy to get to sledge run, regular bus service and fantastic NYE food and atmosphere. Great hosts and super responsive, lovely breakfast and options for restaurant meal are great value! Kettle on request was great after a day in the snow.
Understandingly the NYE in the area prices are super high, so for sharing bathrooms it is on more expensive side, but we had an amazing time and highly recommend to others - winter or summer.

The location was wonderful. I think it's far better than staying in Lauterbrunnen. The bus goes out there, but it's better if you have a car.

Location close to cable car, food in restaurant, breakfast.
Entry is confusing - I couldn't find the check in to the hotel.

The location is incredible! A good distance from the crowds in Lauterbrunnen. Clean and comfortable.
Beds were a bit too soft for us.

Breakfast was ok, the coffee was EXCELLENT and the views from the restaurant were absolutely fantastic

We came here for the location. Met other friends and did a 4-day trek to the end of the valley. Spent 2 nights in a room with skylight but no window. Shared toilet and shower across the hall. Not too happy with that for US$188 a night. Came back from trek and spent another 2 nights but with room upgrade. Toilet and shower across the hall but room was normal size with 2 windows so we were happier. Included breakfast was modest but adequate. Muesli with a couple of flavors of yogurt, a couple of kinds of bread, jam, several varieties of cheese, a variety of lunch meats. Toaster available. You get to boil your own eggs. Coffee was good as was orange juice. Rather than commute to Lauterbrunnen (very limited parking, or 9 francs r/t on the bus) we had dinner at the hotel all nights. It was okay, no complaints. Quality okay and enough variety to choose from. Staff were okay.
The small windowless room (avoid room #30) the first 2 nights was disappointing. Not a good value.

Great location, very nice and welcoming staff, hearty food with local products. Price is a bit high but for Swiss standards and considering the location it was fair.
Breakfast could be improved a bit, but all in all it was ok

A rustic and authentic stay in a breathtaking location, with kind staff and great access to nature. Comfort is limited, but if you value setting and simplicity over modern facilities, this place will suit you well.
Free parking is available right in front of the property, which is very convenient. The ground-floor restaurant has a lovely view of the valley and serves hearty meals at reasonable prices. The Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well given the remote location.
The rooms are simple and provide just the bare minimum: (e.g., limited amenities, no hairdryer, no fridge) so bring what you need from home.

Can’t beat this location in the entire Lauterbrunnen Valley for a great starting and ending point for hikes into the UNESCO area or to take the Schilthorn Cable Car, and out of the hustle and bustle of Lauterbrunnen. The restaurant is a welcome spot in a beautiful setting to have a refreshing drink and a meal after a day hiking.
The bed mattress was a little less thick and comfortable than I like but after a day hiking it doesn’t matter much and I slept great. I prefer a private bathroom but the common bathroom was very clean and available when needed. And the price reflects the shared bathroom.

Great location for hiking, getting out of the business of Lauterbrunnen.

Lovely hotel and restaurant. Good location on the 141 bus line from Lauterbrunnen. Young staff (interns) were fun to deal with.
Room was very warm --no fan provided.

Restaurant and breakfast. The common services were good and clean. The staff was kind and nice
Very cold room when I checked-in, than I could warm it up switching on the radiator. Price a bit high, but maybe was in concomitance of Ski World Cup in Wengen.

My friend and I really liked this place. The bus from Lauterbruen station takes you right down the valley to the hotel (last stop). It’s a cosy family run hotel that you feel at home in. Room was basic and comfy. Outstanding beauty surrounds this place so you are spoilt for choice on what to do. And it’s away from the tourist crowds.
The continental breakfast was great but there were always flys around.

Friendly staff, nice food menu, good location. Restaurant ambiance and family feel.
Room had no windows! Squeezed in under eaves with just a skylight too high to see out of. Hot and stuffy.

The location is unbeatable. The breakfast was the best we had in the Grindelwald region. But the room was very basic, and the toilet/showers were shared.
The room was very basic. Also I asked for 2 separate beds and the beds were set together (we pulled them apart).
The shower and toilets were shared, which basically amounts to a dormitory (unless you're staying with a girlfriend/ spouse, which I wasn't).

Location was at the end of a quiet lane next to farms and the bus stop. Loved hearing the cow and goat bells! Could watch the para-sailers and waterfalls! Could also see the bus and rush to catch it! Restaurant was close and good! Hostess was very nice and helpful! Nice kitchen.
Lighting could use some improvement. We did stay over a Monday and Tuesday which were days that the staff took a break. Will prepare better for that in the future. Hostess did leave us with some breakfast!

the location may not be right if you want a social active affair. it’s up at the end of the road after Lauterbrunnen and right at the start of amazing trails.
as such and given that it was not high hiking season (late March), we were the only ones in the building so it was super quiet.
the views from the balcony were amazing…the rocks and mountains so peaceful.
the staff also tried, a local type of hospitality that you have to appreciate to enjoy. I was also able to shut down the electricity at night via the fuse boxes and that cut out the wifi, as I’m sensitive to these things (aided by being the only ones in the building).
the breakfast was missing fruit or vegetables or any gluten free options. still, it was a quaint experience. can’t complain too much.
also no possibility to charge the electric car which would have been great as we spent 2 days.

We loved the place, the sympathy of Tina, the breakfast, its a really traditional place to stay, with a beautiful view.

The room was very clean. The location of the hotel was good for hiking.
My room in an annex overlooked the parking lot which was surprisingly busy and noisy for such a small village. There is a small nice dining room but we were placed in a large noisy addition. The food was expensive and, to my taste, not good compared to the other places we ate in Switzerland. One of the employees came and yelled at my friends, saying they had stayed two nights instead of one, even though later she realized her mistake and apologized. Overall, kind of a weird experience.

The location is great.
The staff was very unpleasant and bossy. At one point we tried to eat dinner and asked to sit outside for COVID reasons. They had a very large outdoor terrace for serving food, but they got very upset about seating us out there. They actually started yelling amongst themselves that it would be too cold for us to sit outside, and that we'd just want to come inside in 5 minutes. Eventually, when we suggested that we'd go to another restaurant, they allowed us to sit outside and eat, and there were actually 4 other parties outside! It was just really rude.

Nothing
Horrendous!
I reserved the room.
I requested, during opening hours a later check-in.
They ACCEPTED a later check-in.
If they declined my request, then I could have made other arrangements.
They didn't decline.
They ACCEPTED, then they FAILED to leave a key where they said they were going to.
The result?
5 hours back and forth with booking to try and find a solution (there wasn't one).
A missed Birthday present from my Mum, as it is not safe for me to partake, with such little (no) sleep.
Sitting in the 4 degrees weather, in my car without heating as after 2.5 hours the fuel started to run down.
I can not put in to words the anxiety, and emotional and physical distress they have caused.
They didnt answer the phone, loud knocks or emails from Booking.
Then, in the morning, they had the audacity to email me and say sorry that the waiter forgot to put the key where they had promised, BUT followed switftly by several paragraphs explaining how its not their fault because they are a small hotel and tired when they finish work. That I should have booked a bigger hotel where they work less hours and have a night porter. I guess they forgot the part where they accepted my request, ahead of check-in and within opening hours.
Their message was literally ended with.. .and I quote ... "its also your mistake not only ours."
This is absolutely unacceptable and this message just adds to the clear lack of care and customer service towards their guests.
The only mistake I made was booking this outrageous hotel in the first place.
Absolutely disgraceful.
