Great stay with my son, perfect location for super quick access to trains and slopes

Awesome first time in der Schweiz

Rooms better than expected. Recently remodeled. Awesome view. Excellent location. Kind staff. Next time I come back to Switzerland, I would rather return there instead of staying somewhere else.

Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Town

A decent hotel with amazing mountain views and a great breakfast selection. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. The location is excellent—right in the heart of town, just a few steps from the local station and the lifts, making it very convenient for getting around. Overall, a comfortable and well-situated place to stay.

Authentic Swiss room in an amazing setting with a view of Staubbach Falls!

Convenient to train station, beds were comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of options such as fresh fruit, local cheeses, deli meats, yogurts, homemade breads, cereals, bacon and eggs…delicious!! Restaurant at night offered the most delicious Schnitzel…we went back for more the next day!

Clean, convenient, and comfortable - the 3 Cs.

Hotel Steinbeck was perfect for our four-day stay in Lauterbrunnen. Contrary to some negative reviews we found the room clean and the bathroom more than adequate - good water pressure and hot water in the shower. We typically do not require our room to be serviced during our stay - when we saw housekeepers in the hall, they gladly switched our towels for fresh ones. The bed was comfortable, but the large floofy pillows, not so much. Our room had a sweet little balcony overlooking the train station - a great vantage point for people watching and views across the valley. Speaking of convenience - the train station, cable car, bank and bus stop are literally right outside the door. Breakfasts were good with a selection for most every taste. We had most dinners at the hotel - the staff were very helpful and the menu was good - with wild game dishes as a specialty.

Excellent one night stay in Lauterbrunnen. Drove straight from Basel airport and made it in time for a late dinner at the hotel. The room was neat with a modern bathroom and nice views. Excellent location for exploring Lauterbrunnen

The location was right next to the gondola and the train station.

There was kind of a musty smell in the room. It didn’t stink, but perhaps it was the smell of an old hotel room?

Great base location to explore but I would stay in Murren

Location- Situated directly opposite the train station and near the Lauterbrunnen–Mürren cable car. Shared bathroom and shower on the same floor. Bathroom sink in the room. Solid Breakfast. Value

No elevator. Booked a twin room but got bunk beds instead- wife not happy.

Great spot, room for improvement

Great location & nice view from the balcony. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and enjoyed our meals, reasonably priced compared to others in the street (& given its Switzerland!). Breakfast was plentiful and nice provided you got there early. They didn’t seem to replenish the fresh fruit or the eggs and bacon which were cold two out of the three mornings we were there.

We found the mattress far too firm and uncomfortable. We used one of the single duvets as a mattress topper which made it bearable. The stairs to the rooms were brutal so pack light!

The location right by the train station and the breakfast was well done.

The room I booked wasn’t attached to the actual hotel we checked in at. We had to walk down the street to a separate building then walk up two flights of stairs, go through another side door then to the hallway for our room. When I booked, I don’t remember the room being annexed away from the facilities. The outlets beside the bed only took USB cords so the only regular outlets were right beside the door or in the bathroom.

A friendly hotel, a clean bedroom and great night's sleep

A friendly hotel / restaurant. Timea made me feel very welcome, and made me a lovely packed breakfast for the morning (had to catch an early train). Room clean and quiet, bed comfortable and an excellent night's sleep, thank you. Hope to come again!

Not having longer to stay!

Disappointing experience – poor service and unhelpful staff

The location of the hotel is quite nice

Unfortunately, my experience at the hotel was quite disappointing. I was given a room with the worst view, despite paying a high price. When I politely asked to change the room especially since there were clearly empty rooms available the staff refused without any reasonable explanation. On top of that, the staff were not kind or supportive throughout my stay. I needed an iron to press my clothes, but they did not help me. The lack of hospitality and unwillingness to help made my stay uncomfortable and frustrating.

A good place to stay, with an amazing view at a reasonable price.

Good value for the price. Was cozy with a balcony facing the town. A beautiful view. The breakfast was amazing and exceeded my expectations. The staff were also very courteous and helpful in everyway. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
