The room was spartan, not up to ibis rooms elsewhere, the bathroom not properly cleaned and a toilet in a ridiculous position. It maybe old but the bathroom needed to be a lot cleaner, not a memorable stay

When we checked in we went to pay the city tax and noted a considerably higher amount in the screen to be taken. We questioned this and was told we had to pay for the full room, we had already paid in full (minus the city tax) on booking and even with proof of payment we were told if we didn’t pay we would not be getting a room. Ended up having to pay for the second time and almost a week later we have still not received the refund we have been guaranteed by hotels.com

When I checked in the receptionist was rude, questioned my integrity, refused to accept the proof of payment that I showed her and made me pay again for the room I had already paid for. I will never use this excuse for a hotel again. Be warned, there are plenty of good hotels in Poitiers, this isn't one of them.
