Is a beautiful hotel with great features, I had room no 20 which is outside the courtyard.That particular room is very noisy due to heavy entry door and noise from bar , kitchen and workers. Curtains do not fit properly so outside lighting shines through. Lovely hotel but needs some thought if called a 5star.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clarance Hotel, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the property has a great deal of traditional charm. It’s very walkable to the cobblestoned old town with lots of dining options and lovely little shops.

Beautiful property in Lille. The room was spacious and inviting, while the staff were fantastic and very helpful. Breakfasts were lovely, and dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. A great stay in a lovely city.

Very disappointing stay. The building is beautiful, but the structure has not been renovated so one hears any move from your neighbour which results in sleepless nights (confirmed by 2 co-travellers). The first breakfast was a disaster, it felt like an event place run by a stagiaire and not a Relais Chateau. Save your money and go to Novotel instead.

Unfortunately it was hotter than expected and the room has no air conditioning..not their fault and they tried to assist . Also not having the restaurant fully open was not great but there were dining options out of the property. We parked at the hotel and had a slight misunderstanding of costs but staff were obliging to rectify this. We did have a very nice stay… thank you.

The staff were amazing - very helpful and super friendly. But this is no way a five star hotel on any stretch of the imagination. The grounds are small but pretty courtyard at the back although this was not freely accessible. Our “junior suite” was very small and dark and did not like the set up. Felt very cramped and claustrophobic. There was nowhere to sit down and have a drink after a day out (the courtyard was not accessible except for breakfast and dinner). Great location though.

Horrible hotel. No air conditioning, rooms very poorly insulated from the noise and the heat. If they're not going to have AC at least they should make sure they change the bedding to provide bed clothes that are appropriate for the temperature. The duvet was a winter duvet and made us sweat like crazy. On top of that the restaurant staff was moving restaurant furniture until 1am completely preventing us from sleeping. I had never seen that in my life. Way too much carpet in the hotel and a very tacky decoration. We had booked 2 nights and we left after the first night. Given our horrible experience we thought they'd obviously refund the second night. But they refused... unbelievable

This lovely hotel is in a restored 18th-century building that is secluded enough to be quiet, but just steps away from the activity and restaurants of Old Town. I can’t say I loved the decor of my room – – a little too heavy on the orange for my taste – – but it was a plush, luxurious place to stay and the staff was unfeelingly pleasant. I wished I could have stayed longer than just one night.

Really loved this Hotel , great room and vibe to this place , a little annoyed that we were asked to leave the key to my car at reception ! as we had parked in a designated bay in front of the hotel I wondered why ? , on returning to my car it had been moved facing the other way but in the same spot ! I know it sounds a bit trivial , but it’s a very high value car and I’m not happy others moving it for no reason I could see !!

Clarance Hotel is a lovely boutique and luxury hotel, in a quiet part of Lille - old town. You can walk to the Grand Place in less than 10 minutes, and the neighbourhood is full of local quality restaurants. In addition, the Hotel has a fine-dining restaurant boasting 1 Michelin star. Less than 20 rooms means the hotel feels very intimate. The decoration is bold and contemporary. Staff at reception were lovely throughout the stay. The managed to get me a take-away breakfast as I had no time to sit down and have my breakfast at the Hotel. Would stay there again!

The hotel is in a very pleasant and charming area, at the edge of the old city. The Weather was awful during our stay, but the hotel so comfortable that we enjoyed ourselves anyway, and still got to see some pleasant parts of the city thanks to the excellent guidance of the staff. The hotel offers that rare ability to provide first class service without intrusiveness or obsequiousness, something we had not experienced for a long time.
