Wedgeview was the perfect starting point for our South African journey. It was about 20 from Cape town airport and a very convenient distance to Stellenbosch wineries. We spent two nights here to recover from jet lag and to explore stellenbosch. We loved everything about this property and its staff!

This countryside hotel has everything to make it a perfect holiday destination. The only thing that could be improved was the service. It was a bit messy. Another guest’s laundry bag was misplaced in our room, we reported a wasp nest on our balcony after check in, but it was still there the day we left. And the service at the dinner was not the best. Example; offering to bring some mayonaise, but then never actually delivering it. The staff is the sweetest you can get. But some training would make a huge difference. That said. Hotel and rooms are beautiful!

Such a lovely property. Very homey — esp. with the thatched roofs — and the fireplace. We appreciated the welcome drink. One caution is there seems to be missed communications between Expedia and staff regarding reservations. Enjoyed the views, the food and the friendly staff!

I never write reviews but I had to this time. Amazing service. Beautiful place. So glad I booked here, my husband was thrilled. We had a wedding close by and decided to make a weekend of it. We swam, had some local beer and enjoyed their delicious food. The staff were all so helpful. Unforgettable. Thanks!

We have stopped here before and it retained its high level of comfort and service. Set in the vineyards just outside of town the surrounding view over the mountains is stunning.The room overlooking the gardens and the mountain view was large and well appointed with easy chairs, air conditioning, desk, usb charging points by the bed. The bathroom is huge, with 2 sinks, shower and bath. The pool and gardens are well kept and the pool lovely and warm. The breakfast is probably one of the best we have had with a huge selection of fresh fruit, bread, pastries, cheese and meat. Great selection of juices and the the hot selection is nice and varied, from full English, wraps to smoked salmon etc. Lunch menu looked adequate though we never got the chance to actually try it out. My wife had a spa treatment which she enjoyed very much. The evening turn down service was very nice touch as well. Few niggles about the room, a kettle is supplied but nowhere really suitable to put, the floor was the best I could find, desk supplied but no desk light so the lighting by the desk was poor, the only international plug socket was behind a chair but only niggles really.

Originally booked a vineyard view room thinking it has a balcony but I was mistaken. Hotel kindly let me change to room in the main block which had a sitting area outside and a great view. Enjoyed sitting in the garden and taking in the views.

My second stay, and it was longer than the first which tells you all you need to know. I also hope it wasn't my last. It really is a delightful place. Well run, beautiful grounds and breathtaking surroundings. The breakfasts are excellent and I couldn't fault the food on the two evenings I ate in.

A quiet country retreat set in the heart of a vineyard. The grounds are well maintained and give a very pleasant setting. There are 2 pool areas to relax as well as outdoor undercover decking area, there is also communal lounge areas. Breakfast is a mix of continental and then cooked to order served outside if the weather is suitable. We were upgraded for which we were most grateful to a large superior room with 2 outside sitting area, views over the vineyards to the far hills. The room itself had a king bed and settee but strangely no chair for the desk. The bathroom had shower and bath. There were spa facilities that seemed a reasonable price but we didn’t have time to use. We would stay again.

This is such a wonderful retreat. Nestled down the dirt road of a working vineyard, this country house is quiet and modest yet quite luxurious. The perfect place to be spoiled with relaxation, delicious food and wine and spectacular views. My stay was short so I hope to return someday to really relish this place and its slow life away from it all. The sunset over the mountains and countryside is worth the trip alone!

Amazing suite (although very warm in summer as air con is limited), hotel grounds are beautiful with a great swimming pool, the staff cannot do enough to help and will ensure whatever you want to do or see in Stellenbosch happens. Die Anlage war ziemlich heruntergekommen, die Pools dreckig und die Einrichtung des Zimmers (außer des Badezimmers) entsprach dem vor 30 Jahren. Nichtsdestotrotz war das Hotelpersonal sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben zuvor ebenfalls 2 Nächte in einem anderen 5-Sternehotel in Stellenbosch verbracht, und hatten uns vom Wedgeview ein ebenfalls so guten Standard erhofft. Zusammenfassend können wir dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen, wenn man sich ein 5-Sternehotel wie nach europäischen Standard erhofft.

Wedgeview really took great care of us during our stay. They even arranged a car service for our dinner plans for the evening. With all the wine tasting... the last thing you want to do is drive. Breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed the staff at Wedgeview -- super friendly and bend over backwards to make sure we were happy.

my stay here was just what was needed - quiet, relaxing and in a beautiful environment. Treat yourself to the excellant spa facilities - i flet like a new woman afterwards The 3 course meal was amazing, especially as the fish was prepared especially for me as a none meat eater!
