Ms. Elena Jenisch and her team went far beyond professional courtesy — they extended genuine care. What touched me most was how they even remembered my dogs and spoke of them with such kindness when I showed her their photos. It was a simple gesture, yet it revealed an attention to detail and humanity that defines true hospitality. Every aspect of the stay — from the refined room to the exquisite breakfast and seamless service — reflected the soul of Sacher: heritage, elegance, and heart. It is a place where guests are not merely served, but sincerely remembered.

Exceptional, quality, luxury are a few words that come to mind when I think of our time spent here. From the attentive check in, to keeping the kitchen open so we could dine, every one was superbly prepared to do their jobs to a level far superior than other luxury hotels. We didn’t have a top tier room but we were treated as if we did. Thats true class.

Light system over-engineered and functionally problematic. First night unable to turn off lights without shutting down all power in the room. Hotel concierge wasn't even able to fix this. Tv in the bothroom vanity lacked remote control and could not be turned off without turning off fuse switch in the closet. Closet light motion sensor misprogrammed and light remained on for 30 minutes after any motion in the room. Again required fully turning off power in the room. Required lengthy involvement of maintenance crew the next day to resolve all of this.

Lovely experience staying at Sacher. We were greeted warmly, even given a tour of the hotel and escorted to our room. The location is perfect since many attractions and restaurants are walking distance. Extra special to see fruit and the famous Sacher torte waiting for us in the room. And we had no idea that this is where Julie Andrews stayed when filming Sound of Music!

Very nice hotel .. a little unhappy they didn’t want to include breakfast at a room rate of more than 500 euros so it didn’t leave a good impression… personally I will not return to this hotel as I found them a little too greedy but it’s a nice hotel but there are other choices in the old town !!

This is easily our favourite hotel in the world. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and newly renovated. When they found out it was our 50th wedding anniversary, they upgraded us to a lovely room overlooking the river, with a balcony. Every dish we ate in the restaurants was delicious. A special nod to Anna who took such good care of us on the first evening!
