La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Costa Mesa / Newport Beach

Bathroom was outdated. Beds are great quality. No noise when you move. Room didn’t smell bad but used Lysol anyways. Air conditioner when heated smelled weird …. Maybe CO2 leakage? Not sure

I had an absolutely terrible experience staying at this hotel. When I arrived, check-in took an extremely long time because there were already many other guests at the front desk complaining about issues. That should have been the first warning sign. After finally getting my room, I walked in and was shocked. The room was in horrible condition — very dirty, poorly maintained, and had a very strong cigarette smell everywhere. I was traveling with my 2-month-old baby, and exposing a newborn to a room smelling like smoke is completely unacceptable. The bathroom was disgusting and clearly had not been cleaned properly. I went back to the front desk to complain, and instead of offering a real solution, they told me to use an air freshener. I had no choice but to leave the door open from around 3 PM until 6 PM trying to get rid of the smell myself. After complaining again, they wanted to charge me $100 just to switch rooms, which I found ridiculous considering the condition of the room they gave me. Eventually, I ended up paying an extra $35 just to get moved. Unfortunately, the second room was not any better because the air conditioning was not working properly. The room became extremely hot during the night, and because of the heat, my baby and my family could not sleep at all. It was miserable. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I believe I spoke with the manager, ***, who was kind and professional, but the other front desk employee provided terrible customer service and was completely unhelpful. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families traveling with babies or young children. Very disappointing experience. ⭐ 1/5 – Never staying here again.

This place is torn down, very dirty. The hair dryer doesn’t work, I have requested twice but no action was taken place. The room is dirty with worn out towels and small shampoos p@ckages. We stayed for two night, Nobody is clean your room. As I don’t see any maids. You need to go down to the receptionist area to get towels or shampoo as nobody is available to pick up your phone to deliver them to you

There was black mold in the bathroom and shower Highway super loud Ac not reliable. Itchy sheets (both beds) Broken shards of glass spread in front of door Everything un plugged (even lamps) Not actually a continental breakfast
