The entire apartment was lovely. Air conditioning worked GREAT. We loved the apartment and found the location perfect. Two blocks to the Plaza Del Sol, every place is walking distance including the metro, Prado, Thyssen Art museum, and the Royal Palace of Madrid. The Taxi drop off is less than a 1/2 block away. The outside patio was a great place to snap those sunrise and sunset photos. Quiet, relaxing and refreshing this is the place to stay.

This place if very centrally located and allows for easy walking to all that Madrid has to offer. As others have said, it appears to be clean - although there is a lot of dust atop the stove hood (I don't think the cleaning lady is tall enough to see it!). However, a few things caused us some concerns. Firstly, when checking in the lovely concierge lady of course noted our Passport details on the requisite forms, but she also insisted on taking pictures of our passports on what appeared to be her personal phone. No other VRBO we stayed at took pictures of our passports. While the property manager assured us these images are deleted, we have not proof of this. Also, as a few others have indicated, this apartment could use a refresh. There is an odour (musty/stale) when you enter. There's some mold in one of the showers and the cracked/missing grout, and the laminate floors/moulding show evidence of moisture/water damage (I have experience with home renos). I wonder if the odour is hidden mold. The current value of this VRBO is in its location. With a few repairs and refreshing, it could be excellent.
