The hotel is on ideal location just a few minutes from Romsey and has adequate parking. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights and the dinners and breakfasts were superb, with all the food cooked to order. The hotel backs on to the River Test with a walkway leading down to it.

Good location and plenty of parking. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Good breakfast choice and food available throughout the day/evening. Welcoming and friendly staff.

Couldn’t fault the place, staff, facilities, food all excellent. Access to river walk at back of site was a bonus.
Not a negative as such, just be aware of the location ie on main road and rooms linked to the pub - so it won’t be 100% quiet but didn’t detract from our stay.

The location was chosen due to the fact that it was close to the wedding venue we were attending, the room (Edinburgh) was quiet & adequately spacious for a two night stay. A variety of options were available for both breakfast & evening meals, something for all tastes I’d imagine. Spacious carpark, umbrellas & wellington boots supplied on request to help with our erratic British weather was a nice touch.
This establishment is severely understaffed, whether or not as a couple we were ignored would be hard to say but, we waited upwards of 20 minutes for drinks to arrive at our table during our evening meal, twice I had to remind staff that we were going thirsty waiting, the food when it arrived was slapped down on the table in what can only be described as nonchalant haste(tired maybe), groups of diners were fussed over , couples seemed to be ignored (or was it just us)! Only 3 members of staff were on duty covering front of house Friday 5th June, covering bar/restaurant/service, so consequently our evening was not a memorable one due to all of the attached, not the fault of the staff on duty I hasten to add , they ran their legs off trying to cope working upwards of a 16 hr day. Saturday 6th was not much different, however there was a certified bartender on hand to keep the bar running smoothly whilst the 2 girls concentrated on table service. Finally, on settling the bill on departure found that we’d been charged for breakfast, apparently no way of checking original booking but,I’d swear we’d pre paid for breakfast (why wouldn’t we) at £360 for 2 nights! Lovely staff, but obviously overworked leads to potentially moody service.
