It all started very well with a room prepared that sounded really nice. Having a suite and a connected double room instead of the family room looked nice. Location is perfect; close to everything, and easy to reach. Parking on site, though it is really narrow; difficult to get in if the car is bigger than a compact size. Hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Room - the connecting doors were damaged, one of them being unstable (not able to close it). The big window frame of the double room (550) was not properly closing, hence lots of noise from the outside (closing mechanism needs checking and repairing). Insulation was not good in the Verdi Suite neither, hearing a strange noise of water dripping from the bathrooms around the room and poor window soundproofing. The heating system was randomly started even though temperature sensor was showing 24 degrees in the room, and the system was set for 20 degrees. Weird for a Suite level room. No prices displayed for the minibar. It's not about the amount, but the principle
Breakfast - poor customer service attitude from the staff (requested my family to standup from the table so they can prepare the table for the brunch (few hours later!!). Other customers were allowed sitting in the same area. Food diversity ok, but the quality of ingredients very low (supermaket level); not regular for Italy.
Parking - really tight. Requires some serious driving skills, especially at exit! not a problem if the car is small.

Spacious suite, clean but the jetted jacuzzi needed a clean, the jets were filthy from inside, thus made the water had black particles in it,
Its needed cleaning and maintenance,
The thermostat, omg, it’s was all connected to central heating and you couldn’t adjust it in the room, and it needs a staff member to increase the temperature or decrease, which u can imagine how uncomfortable is when the temperature changes throughout the day but massive windows can help, if u don’t mind the noisy and busy streets outside,
P.S if u do book a suite even the mini bar is not included. In total, 1 can of Coca-Cola and 4 can of still water will rack up to €18.

Fantastic location right in the heart of piacenza. Gorgeous hotel inside.
Breakfast is served on the 7th floor with the most breathtaking view and wrap around balcony.
Getting to the hotel in our hire car. Piacenza is not an easy city to navigate as a tourist. Car restrictions, narrow streets, pedestrian areas, one way systems can all add to the stress in getting there. Also there garage for car parking is tiny. You would need a very small city car to get into it. We had hired a a fiat Panda and it was a tight squeeze to get into the garage and park the car.

The location was fine
I accept we were staying on the Sunday of a long weekend, but the staff could not have been more disengaged or uninterested. And €30 for a large gin and tonic and a double espresso is daylight robbery
