Very quaint hotel in the heart of the old town with modern finishes in the room. Great location with super friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again if I'm in Lugano.

Stayed in one of the suites which had the benefit of a small kitchenette. The location is excellent and very quiet at night. The biggest drawback was that location on 2nd floor on a relatively narro street means that practically no sunlight comes in. And the lighting in the room wasn't very good so the lasting impression is of a fairly dark room. Good for sleeping but not really a place you wanna hang out on.

The location was excellent, but the room was booked for three people, and was only prepared for two. The sofar bed was not made up, and there were no pillowcases for the extra bed. There were only two towels for showering in the bathroom, and many of the toiletries were only partially filled, as though the previous guest had already used some and they were not replaced. There was an odor of sewer in the bathroom as well. I recieved prompt replies when I requested help from the staff, but communication was only via messaging, and I never saw an actual staff member. The staff member who was helping me was tied up in meetings for most of the day, and was therefore only able to bring me what I needed a few hours after my initial contact.

It took 30 sweaty minutes to get it to open and then I didnt feel confident I could get back in the room so I had to prop in open. I called the number for the hotel and no answer. I called Hotels.com and they couldnt get a hold of anyone either. So they gave me a voucher for the next night because I couldnt stay there anymore. Oh yeah..just to add salt on the wound the air conditioning didnt work either.

For a "luxury" suite here were the negatives: room is small and dark with inadequate lighting; there is a small kitchenette but no silverware; the stopper in the sink was broken; no creamer for the coffee no spare toilet tissue (the small "end of roll" left in the room ran out, but fortunately there is a COOP down the street so we could buy a replacement); not facial tissue; and, the topper, WiFi did not work (tried four devices standing under the WiFi device in the hall but none would connect). In addition, the "free breakfast" is a coupon for a cafe down the street. The breakfast as a croissant, two pieces of store bought white toast, one pad of butter and a cup of coffee. Finally, in an email, the "manager" of the suite directed me to the Lac Parking Silo and told me to give the attendant my name and my Splendori confirmation number. Problem: there is no attendant; it is a fully automated City garage. Charge for the night - 42 Swiss Francs. Positives - located one block from the lake with plenty of shops and restaurants. Also the A/C worked well.

Self check in was difficult to process because hotel.com did not have reservation number needed to enter the online form. Called owner/manager and he tried to talk us through but language/accent was hard to understand over phone. Internet service was not operating our entire stay.

This was great. Right in the middle of everything, no need to have a car. we walked everywhere and were a block from square. The room was spacious clean and had all the amenities that I could ask for. Breakfast next door was great! AC had a hard time keeping up during the day (we were still jet lagged) but the room was cool at night

We stayed here for 2 nights in Suite 2. The hotel is located on the principal shopping street in Lugano and is only a block from the lake. We arrived in the AM by train and had to store our luggage at the train station before check-in, so we found the building in advance and were easily able to collect our luggage later in the day and walk from the funicular station (about 7 minutes) with our luggage to the hotel. I had paid in advance and the automated check-in process is fast and simple. Francesco had contacted me in advance of our arrival with all necessary details and was very responsive to my questions. He also checked in with us during our stay. The rooms are cleaned everyday and didnt have any issues staying in a staff-less hotel. Our room was exactly like the picture (feels like youre staying in a chocolate box). We prefer modern accommodations that allow us leave the old word charm to our tourist activities and not our accommodations. The room has a large bed, sofa, desk, small table, and two folding chairs. There is plenty of built in storage for your belongings and luggage. The bathroom has a large shower and plenty of counter space. There is a small kitchenette, which we didnt use, but the refreshments in the minibar are free. We leave in a city and found the location quiet, convenient, and perfect for our stay. If youre looking for a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay....this is it!

Splendors Suites were a quality stay, once you got the hang of it. There is no staff on sight, so much of it you had to figure out on your own or via email with an attendant. You get a QVC which will allow you to use the elevator and enter your room, which is challenging at first but you get the hang of it. The room was fine, clean and simple, though a bit dark. The free breakfast vouchers were awesome. The restaurant that you use them is great. I’ll give them Splendori credit, I forgot to check out at the self-check kiosk and they didn’t charge me for extra time. Located right by the lake, the location is right in the middle of the action. Overall, pleased with my stay.

The hotel is very nice and located conveniently in the middle of everything. There were no staffs or anyone to greet. Check in and out were done electronically. It was fast and easy. Once we have checked in, we got an email from Francesco confirming the check in and to see if everything went well. Most of the area in the room was clean but we found that the toilet seat was dirty. It was probably missed by the cleaning staff. Overall we were happy and would book in this hotel again.
