Comfortable stay in a nice part of Lugano, try to use the funicular if you arrive by train.

We found the room to be very comfortable. I slept on the twin bed and wished I could bring it with me as it was super comfortable! My friend had the queen bed. The room was very clean and it was also very quiet. We stayed one night en route to the Winter Olympics.

We found that there was an odd smell in the bathroom-it smelled like rubber and it seemed that they had patched something in the shower and if we kept the bathroom door closed that helped contain the smell. Also it was a little tricky to find because you check in at a separate desk about a 1/2 a block away. We had a tricky time finding the funicular at the train station so we walked to the facility (steep downhill). In the morning, we used the funicular which was MUCH easier.

Good central but quiet location

The suite is in a great location on the edge of the old town in Lugano. It was very quiet, nicely furnished and had comfortable beds. The suite is very close to the lake and a very short walk to shops and restaurants.

There was a strange smell in the bathroom, a small amount of something orange on the wall of the shower and hairs on the rain showerhead. We mentioned these to management and while the bathroom towels etc were replaced and the smell went for the day, the showerhead and orange build up were not cleaned and the smell was back in the evening. Quite disappointing. We were also told that the kitchenette was only to warm things up, and this was the reason that there was only one small pot and the small number of plates etc. but I think it would be good to be able to use the cooking facilities even if it meant that guests have to clean up after themselves like in an Airbnb.

Location was very good.and quiet considering in the middle of town.

Internet was very spuratic. One evening we went without internet for 3-4 hours. Might not have a big issue but we had 3 days of rain so more time was spent in the suite and work was almost impossible. The suite is very dark. For the price they could offer some complimentary water.

Very central location in Lugano with access to everything near.

Great location in Lugano along the strip where a lot of the shops are. Very short walk to the lake and the room was spacious with all the facilities required. Check in and check out was very simple and they even assisted me with getting up to the train station. Overall a good experience.

Due to the city being very tightly built together the adjacent buildings are very close to you and not a lot of natural sunlight comes in during the day.

Don't go there if you expect a hotel. Just call it a studio.

The central location in Lugano was very convenient. It was very calm (no noise at all) and clean.

The room has no luxury. It has just what you need. A large beg (queen size), a small bed (made a sofa), a small table, a desk. It is called a suite because there is a small kitchen in the entrance. The bathroom is tiny. There is no staff in the facility. Finding where to check in is a treasure hunt game. The hotel is sending many lengthy messages in German. Sometimes, there is an English version that we find if we scroll enough. This is where the instructions for check in are hidden. I did not see any Italian. Contrarily to what booking.com says, there is no breakfast. The bottom line is that it is not a hotel. Call it a studio to rent for the day.

Amazing stay, highly recommend!

Everything was great, the place looked exactly like in the images. Good location, in center and very quiet on the top floor. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive to details, they even helped us recover a watch we forgot in the room.

TOP TOP TOP Location! 2 minutes from the lake and the center, 5 minutes from public parking Motta (I left the car there). Staff was very polite. Room was awesome, clean, comfortable, bathroom was superb, wifi was excellent, check-in/out was easy. All was perfect. Thank you!

Breakfast was adequate, this is not a 5 star hotel, & Europeans generally have a lighter fare, so some comments were a little tough. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The staff was welcoming and VERY helpful. Clean room and a comfortable bed. Right in the center of activities and easy to access restaurants & the lake.

Room could use a little more light, but it is on a street where buildings block direct light. The reception office is easy to miss- go into the kiosk looking cafe & you'll get a warm welcome.

Disappointing

The bed and sofa bed were comfortable (hard mattress). Location was conveniently central, street on 2nd line parallel to the lake.

For the price, this room (Suite 3) was a total rip off. It is small and has very dark lighting, 2 standing lamps didnt work. Windows face the back building, so there's no view or light. Breakfast is in the main hotel building, but it's rather mediocre with tasteless cheese and cheap salami. They cram guests into a small room with no terrace and no view. They have a cafeteria with nice coffee mashine at the reception, but guests don't get this coffee included in breakfast... The city tax is ridiculously high. They charged us 5.25 CHF per person which has to be illegal. Othe places charge between 2.50 or 3.50 CHF.

We stayed at San Carlo Suite, which is a different building than the hotel where the reception and breakfast are. The room was comfortable but a bit smaller. The location was perfect to visit Lugano!

The location. It was a cute and quiet space.. felt more like a studio apartment instead of a hotel

It had a terrible smell. At first it smelled like heavy toxic cleaning supplies. After that cleared out it smelled like sewage. It smelled like their was something wrong with their pipes.. and sewage was coming back up? Closing the bathroom door helped a little. Also the air conditioning did not work well. The room felt hot and stuffy. I didn’t complain because I was traveling a lot and I just used it mostly to store my larger luggage. I had pre paid it it in advance so i just kept it but Out of the two weeks that I had booked I think I may have only spent a total of three or four nights there. even when I was in town I ended up going to other hotels to sleep.. because I could not stand the smell.

Spacious clean room with kitchen in the middle of Lugano

Very spacious room (rare in the middle of a Swiss city at this price) with mini kitchen, sofa and table. The room was clean, well furnished and looked newly renovated. People have written that it was difficult to check-in, or finding the place, but the check-in is no longer automatic and you go to the San Carlo Hotel nearby (which is easy to find, and has a proper front desk). This front desk was manned by very friendly staff which also kept our luggage before and after check in. Excellent location on the edge of the main shopping street. About 10min walk from the Lugano Train station. You can also use the Funicular from the station down to the town level if you don't want to walk with your luggage, which then makes the walk shorter. This main shopping street is one road in from the road facing the lake, so perfect spot for a stroll around the lake

As others wrote, the lighting was quite dim, and there was very little sunlight coming in which did not help even during the day. Apart from that, everything else was fine.
