The hotel is okay, but I had black mold in the bathroom, low water pressure in the shower so could as we’ll have showered in the sink and the gym was closed even though it was advertised. The breakfast was very pricy for what you got, 20€ for what you’d get for 8€ at other places. I could stay here again as it is still so close to the work site and the beds were nice and there were no bedbugs but I wouldn’t recommend Holiday Inn if you have other alternatives.

The place was perfect for the price. The public transportation (tram) was close (200 m). Easy accession by car, close to the highway. Morning drilling in the building was little annoying. Hallways were worn out, but all was functional.

Reception was great very happy until we saw the very tired room although the bed was quite comfortable, the aircon didn’t work. The Expo had an all day and night rave or drum and base event and it lasted until 4.30 in the morning. Restaurant food and service was poor service had to be requested. The best thing about the stay was the breakfasts which were bloody good. Access to the tram was very convenient.

The hotel is ideally located and nestled at the Ghent Expo for the Flanders Expo competition. We had showjumping horses in competition and wanted a hotel for family and friends.

Staff are the best thing about this hotel. they are friendly, attentive and efficient. The Hotel itself is dated, showing sides of neglect (peeling wallpaper in room etc) and just tired. Its on an industrial estate with lovely views of an Ikea

Staff were great when we arrived at 10pm, checkin was smooth. The hotel has seen better days and just a bit run down tbh. Not much around the local area for breakfast so we opted for theirs, 19 euros per adult (pricey) but kids (i think under 11) are free... very good variety so we started the day well. Big open air parking but why do you make us pay 7 euros? we're staying the night! For one night, it's close to the beautiful ghent and reasonably priced but i wouldn't stay there for longer... needs a revamp!

I've stayed in this hotel a few times as it is convenient & have always found the staff friendly & approachable. The rooms are clean, quiet & air conditioned. They are, perhaps, beginning to show their age although I noticed that some rooms were having work done on them so may be being updated. As an English speaking traveller, my only real gripe is the lack of a decent English speaking TV channel (I think Al-Jazeera News was more or less the only choice). This may be a post-Brexit thing but some BBC channels, say, would be nice.

The very worst hotel I have stayed in for the cost. I paid 208euros without breakfast for a hotel that was so dated. Doesn’t feel like it has been decorated since 1980’s. Felt dirty and old fashioned. Nasty shower curtain, too hot and ridiculous price for a hugely outdated hotel. This is unacceptable from a major brand, in a significant city in 2023.

Once again Holiday Inn Gent Expo ensured us the optimal convenience in regards to us attending the FACTS Convention at Flanders Expo ... it's just so nice and convenient, that you don't have to get into the car all weekend after driving all the way from Denmark to Gent .) Only thing missing at our stay was the waffles at the breakfast buffet ...... but guess that had more to do with COVID :)

The rooms were tired and could do with a bit of an up date. Food was nice and bed was comfortable. There is an Ikea 400m away with their usual meatball food. There is nothing to do in the area around the hotel and if you are driving be very careful when driving around the “Loop” because if you miss your Turing you have to go around the “Loop” again!

This is not your regular Holiday Inn. The tariff is low to attract guests, so one is even willing to go off location from the center but the hotel itself is very disappointing.That it’s relatively older doesn’t justify lack of upkeep. It can still be maintained well.But the air con in my room was not working. WhenI called the hotel staff to report it , looked like they knew about the issue because they showed up with a replacement fan & said there wasn’t any maintenance available at that hour to fix the issue ( 10pm )Electric kettle in the room wasn’t working either !
