    I’m a little disappointed, ( but my fault) I booked thinking I had a really nice room, (room was ok) but I travelled an extra 40 miles thinking I had a room that had a 4 poster bed, I got a room in an annex… lived n learn.. Lovely old building , nice staff, but quite disappointed in the quality of the breakfast, sausages were pink in the middle, and tasted like they were on the turn, gave them to there dog, that was at my feet during my breakfast, he ate the lot.. including the black pudding that was only half cooked.. I don’t think I would stay here again, not worth the extra journey.. but I’m sure the other rooms might have been beautiful…

    This place is a dream, the bedroom was stunning, with a view on the sea and the surrounding, lovely decor and accessories, nothing at all to fault The staff is some of the nicest we've ever met, attentive but not too in the way and the breakfast food was super good. Both sausage and salmon were of top tier quality. Arguably location isn't too close to the main lake district attractions, but I'd stay here again regardless

    Stayed 1 night on business. Large room, comfortable bed. Location worked for me. Food and restaurant service was so so.
