We spent a happy week in Parisexploring the 14th arr.and beyond.

We loved the location. We also appreciated the many windows that let the summer breeze run through the apartment and keep it cool.

We didn't like the 'capsule' coffee machine. This particular mahine was very finicky. The machine kept swallowing the capsules and we ended up wasting many of them. $$$ A French press or a Melita style cone filter would have been easier to use.

Spacious and nice neighbourhood

Charming flat in a nice neighbourhood.

This is a generously sized and cozy flat, charmingly furnished and with large windows (well noise proved) overlooking a quiet road. One can easily walk to shops and there is a bakery on the ground level. The neighbourhood is nice, one can reach several underground stations within 10 min walk. The flat was warm (we stayed during some cold days so this was important) and also warm water and shower work well. The price was very reasonable for Paris!

After booking do expect quite a bit of paperwork from the rental company Veeve and the booking process also involved an online passport checking procedure. I was informed that the booking will be lost if I did not answer to these requests within a few days (despite the booking being over 4 weeks in advance and my choosing the fully cancellable version). On the other hand they were not able to split my bill into 2 separate periods when I requested this. A few changes would improve the experience. There was no kettle for boiling water. A cafetière would also have been nice. The hob appeared tuned off but fortunately didn't need it. The toilet lid had a tendency to fall down and will rest against your back when you are sitting. There was late noise from the flat upstairs late on the Saturday evening (but in fairness was quiet on other nights). The pillows inside the pillow cases were brown/yellow and not useable, especially the one for the spare bed in the living room. The password for wifi is long and challenging to decipher on the instruction sheet (especially for dyslexic people) because of the too little space between the letters (the J looked like an I and the Q could have been an O - one therefore had to try different combinations which led to spending an exceptionally long time trying to connect to the internet). The lighting is a bit dark.
