Cosy Appartement

It was clean and comfortable it had everything you could want. Plenty of space. Comfortable bed. Hot power shower. Washing machine. Washing airer, Coffee machine. Near café, restaurants, boulangeries, and supermarket. Excellent location for Rock en Seine festival at Domaine de St Cloud just across the Seine from the flat, an easy walk, and for visiting my cousin located in Viroflay. Near two metro stations and a bus station. Near bike hire point. We weren’t visiting central Paris, but this apartment would be fine for doing that. It’s on a direct metro line to the Eiffel tower etc. Well set up for heatwave with shutters, windows that open fully, two large electric fans. Couple of small bottles of water left in the fridge which was v handy as it was 30C when I arrived. Freezer blocks and ice lollies in freezer. large fridge-freezer. Mosquito repellent plug-ins provided (didn’t notice any mosquitos in late august anyway). I only ever had two people (including myself) in the flat at any one time, and I booked for two, but the host kindly had the sofa bed made up for my friend so that we didn’t have to share a bed and a towel was provided for each person who would be staying. Wifi provided worker well. Plenty of spare plug sockets. Microwave/grill and 4 hob induction hob provided and quite a bit of spare dry goods, oils and vinegars, some herbal tea bags etc. were left in the flat.

On 3rd floor spiral staircase with no lift, so good for cardio, but I did have quite a bit of baggage. My friend, and my partner who arrived later in the stay both only had a smallish backpack each so not really a prob for them. There were no further instructions left in the flat on top of those sent by messaging via booking.com, so it was not clear whether my rubbish was going to be recycled properly. I sorted my recycling according to the French rules but I don’t know if it was all going to go into landfill or not. You have no access to the basement where the bins are kept. I ended up not separating my food waste as I had nowhere to deposit it and it would have ended up a bit gross by the end of my stay. I had to work out how to get back out of the inner flat door by pressing a switch that looked like a light-switch. Host did reply to most questions but was a bit slow to reply in most cases. The instructions and directions sent on the long info message via booking.com were good, but some were a bit out of date, eg there is no longer a small Franprix 3mins away on rue Gallini. There is no boulangerie at foot of building and the velib’ bike hire station is also a short walk away 2-3mins not at the foot of the flat. The bathroom is right in the middle of the flat so if you are staying with a friend rather than a close family member it’s a bit short on privacy as there is no fan to block out sounds from the loo, no lock on bathroom door, the door closures make a loud noise when closed properly waking up yr fellow flat occupant. I was a bit anxious about initial access to the flat as rather than using a keybox, the host hid the keys in a location inside a ‘locked in’ private atrium area. But when I got there i did find it easy to find the keys and had no problems getting in. all in all it was a great flat and I definitely would stay there again.
