The perfect one night break!

We knew the location well which is just perfect for central Bowness as no more than 5mins down the hill and you’re there. It is also a very peaceful location. Our room was spacious and comfortable plus the en suite was very high end. A fantastic breakfast made up of quality ingredients. Thanks!

Amazing

The breakfast was lovely, the hotel was peaceful and the room was amazing, we had the top floor , the views from the window are beautiful. We loved the little cosy room downstairs that we could sit in for a change from the room. Everything was close by to walk.

Excellent two night stay. Highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Location just a short distance from the centre. There is a steep hill but this was manageable and soon flattens out. On site parking. Host very welcoming. Room spacious and modern bathroom, which had a roll top bath with shower over. This was a little bit difficult to climb into as we are a couple in our early seventies, however, we managed but would request a room with a walk in shower next time. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Plenty of comfy seating and a big flat screen tv with Netflix etc. The room on the whole was clean though a little dusty in areas, which is not a deal breaker for us. It also overlooked the garden and was not overlooked by nearby properties. The breakfast again was exceptional. Fresh, hot and good quality. Nick the host also provided little extras, I.e. complimentary water, fresh milk for tea and coffee, cakes and pastries and wine glasses and a coke screw. The downstairs lounge had comfy chairs and a roaring log fire. Plenty of tourist info also readily available.

Excellent location, the host Nick couldn’t do enough for us. Awesome breakfasts, homemade cakes/biscuits and fresh milk available really nice touch. Nick also advised us of a short cut walking into the town which missed out the steep bank which was great 👍

Excellent facilities, food and location

The location was excellent although there is a steep hill to climb there is a less steep descent both of which are less than 10minutes in to Bowness centre, where there are many amenities The breakfast was excellent and the lovely treats left for us were an added bonus. The rooms were clean and comfy

Quiet guesthouse- all in all a very excellent stay!

That the guest house was in a quiet location but only a short walk to the shops, cafes etc. There was a choice of breakfasts available, the ordinary one and the vegetarian one were both excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely relaxing stay

We’re returning guests, and love it here. It’s centrally located yet very peaceful and relaxing, with stunning views. Room is large and comfortable. Bed is really comfortable. Bathroom has been refurbished since we last stayed and very luxurious. Breakfast is very good, really high quality. We love the little touches, handmade cakes and biscuits, bottled water and fresh milk for drinks in the room. Definitely value for money.

Beautiful room in a lovely location.

A lovely property and friendly owner in a convenient location. The room was decorated beautifully and the bed/duvet/pillows were very comfortable. The homemade shortbread provided in the room was DELISH as were the cakes on the landing. A really nice touch. Being able to park on site was good to.

Felt a little exposed to other windows that faced into the room when the blind was open. Loved the shower floor design however it was slightly painful to walk on.

A well kept b&b, very clean and comfortable.

Lovely property, good sized room, very clean and comfortable bed. A short walk downhill to the centre, we were warmly welcomed when we arrived and everything was explained efficiently. Nice touches with the provision of cake and bottled water every day and a lovely breakfast.

Would have liked another breakfast option eg: choice of eggs or lighter cooked options eg: scrambled eggs. Would have liked a later breakfast time option until say 10am, especially as we were in late from a wedding the night before. It wasn’t a major issue though and we would definitely stay here again.

Where do I Start? The rooms are comfortable, so many lovely touches. Homemade treats every day , fresh milk and water. Breakfast was really tasty. The host, Nick was lovely. Had glorious weather and loads to do round Windermere. Great value

Short break in Bowness

Lots of space, garden seats, nice garden, lounge area, big room, comfortable, clean. Good breakfast. There was a fridge with fresh milk and water bottles on the landing and fresh cake or biscuits each day. Safe free parking. Not far from centre but far enough away to be peaceful. Good base for break.

We were fine but walk uphill may not be so good for less mobile visitors.

Amazing location, bed, breakfast and gardens!

Initially we booked Fairfield House and Gardens purely for the location (a 4 minute walk down to the centre of Bowness). The accommodation was more than we could have wished for, the host Nick was so lovely, ensuring we had everything we needed (the fresh bakes were an added bonus!). The room (King Room with Mountain View) had the comfiest bed and was so quiet (despite being so close to the busy town) which was just what we needed after a long day hiking Scafell Pike! Then to top off a great nights sleep we enjoyed a delicious cooked full English. We would definitely stay here again and recommend.
