It was local to a few essential shops bed was comfortable. It was very well informed if you needed assistance of any kind and very quiet and relaxing, booked it as a last minute get away which was well needed and would book it again

Cozy room in a brilliant location

Brilliant location, excellent communication from the host after rooms had to be changed due to circumstances left by previous occupatant.

The shower pressure and temperature were not fantastic and the room faces over a carpark where cars were bring noisy of a nighttime but obviously thats not something the hosts can control but something to be aware of.

Excellent!

Great location. Lovely owners. Good value for money. I really enjoyed the stay. Car park is directly behind so not far to walk. Rugby club had a fireworks display with live music within close proximity. I travelled alone and felt safe.

Location was great. Staff was very friendly. Room was very small, but we knew that when we booked. Bathroom was exceptionally tiny. Clean and cozy.

Ideally, the room could have been bigger or have had more storage space. Even a few more hooks on the wall would have helped.

Basic room if you are going to be outdoors.

This cottage is walkable distance to the main hub of bowness on Windermere. The room has all the basics , if you are going to stay outdoors the whole day. Helen n her mum were very informative with all the local things.

Not a major issue, but I struggled at times to pull the room 7 door, as if some restriction while closing.

Location was fabulous but will not recommend the property

The location of the property was fabulous.

When I booked the property in the description it was mentioned that the property has a well equipped kitchen where as when we reached she said it’s not available and it was taken down from booking.com. But we were never informed about that. Another huge drawback of the property was their room key management. The guests were handed out keys which works for both room and main gate. Now my assumption is if every room key works with the main door then the a specific room key would work for other rooms as well. Now that’s logical assumption made me feel unsafe with my stuff while we were out exploring.

Perfect location, cosy room and the most friendly hosts. We really enjoyed our stay at Holly Cottages and felt it was perfect and ticked all the boxes. Jan and Helen gave exceptional recommendations and were incredibly friendly.

Warm and welcomed

It is a lovely cottage very close to the lake，we enjoyed walking by the lake. Helen and Jan are very friendly and helpful. We could cook in the kitchen shared with other guests.

It was situated ideally for parking and amenities. and the owner was lovely! very helpful and the kitchen was great for heating up our takeaway food. we couldn't fault our stay was value for money 😊

Would not recommend to others

Location was good. No breakfast was offered. A VERY tiny room, one side of the bed was against the wall. Bed very uncomfortable. The bedroom was so small, it was hard for us to move around. Also, there was no lobby, just very narrow stairs leading to the room. Would not recommend it to anyone

Beautiful, clean, comfy room. Bonus that it had a large balcony to enjoy the sun (when it was out). Location is superb, right in the centre of town. The owners couldn't be more helpful. Very friendly. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Super convenient location at a great price.

Good spacious room with a private bathroom. Bowness has loads of restaurants and shops, but can cook your own meals if needed. Fridge useful yo keep sandwiches etc in. Convenient location for 508 & 555 bus for the central, eastern and far eastern fells!

Location was brilliant , lady was friendly.

I had no signal in the lakes and hadn’t realised I’d been sent a code to get the key of the property. Luckily they were onsite to help. In future maybe send the code sooner or leave WiFi on the door so it can be retrieved.

Unbelievably friendly staff and lovely guesthouse 30 seconds from Bowness centre!!

The location is brilliant for exploring Bowness/Windermere. Check in was easy and the owner couldn`t do enough for us, even let us have milk and cereal for free (we left extra milk as repayment for this). The room was the small double so we expected it being cosy so no problems with the size.

Not a complaint but just for awareness, the small double is next to a very busy road into Bowness so if you`re a light sleeper and like the window open you had best take this into account and book the rooms at the other side of the guest house.
