Walking distance to Old Town!

Fairly newly, tastefully furnished, good Wi-Fi, good water pressure and the washing machine was inside the apartment itself. Looks like the photos. The apartment could sleep five so it was plenty of space for three of us. Large and well equipped kitchen. Compared to other similar properties I could find at the last minute in Split, this was the best value given the size and more importantly, the fact that it has two full bathrooms which was needed for our group. Main reason we booked was location - it’s an easy ten minutes walk to the Old Town. But keep in mind that it’s downhill all the way to the Old Town so uphill on the return trip. Decent amount of nearby free street parking. When we got lucky we found parking right in front of the apartment. The furthest we parked was about a 7 minute walk away. Quiet, calm and safe residential neighborhood. Host Marko was kind enough to allow a slightly later check out which we appreciated. Communication with him was good and the self check-in was very straightforward. Even though we were always together as a group, we can see how having a keypad with code entry is beneficial for a group of say, 5 adults who might not all be coming back to the apartment at the same time.

We were here in mid-July during that heat wave sweeping over southern Europe so it was hot! There’s only one air conditioner for the entire apartment and it’s in the corner of the living room. The cool air just about reaches the master bedroom but we still needed to use the one small fan we found in one of the bathrooms. Also due to this setup, you have to leave the bedroom doors open somewhat to get some cool air. Not a huge deal depending on privacy needs but also not ideal. One bedroom door didn’t close completely at all. Bathroom with the tub has no shower curtain or anything to prevent water getting all over the bathroom floor when you shower. These things can and should be easily fixed - maybe in the middle of high season with such tight turnarounds there wasn’t any time to address these problems.
