Loved the location so easy to get into town and lovely walk in too. Love that it was dog friendly. The bathroom is so lovely. Beds very comfortable.

At first we thought it was a little far from the station but once we get used to it, we enjoyed staying here. The local pub "the Fox" was very nice. The whole house was very clean.
If you travel without car, it might be difficult to find the location. But eventually we found the easier way to reach to the accommodation so it may not be the problem.

The Cleveland is a lovely place to stay! It is clean and very comfortable and feels like a home away from home. Modern and newly renovated, has two bedrooms and excellent facilities. It has a beautiful bathroom with new, but old-world charm taps and bath and lovely hot shower. The kitchen is well equiped with everything you need including, toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, fridge and is modern and spacious. The owner has addressed a previous reviewer’s comment regarding the staircase and installed a new hand-rail to provide safety going up and down the stairs. We left our luggage downstairs as we had very large suitcases which was fine as just the two of us. The Cleveland is in a quiet street, not far from the centre of York. Approximately a 15 minute walk. We discovered a shortcut to the train station, to cross through to the old town of York. Cross the street through the little park, turn right and walk a short distance to Wilton Rise, turn left and go up the steps, over the bridge and follow the path that takes you to the train station. A very helpful folder of information was included with a map, safety and appliance instructions, restaurants and cafes nearby.

Brushed nylon bedding,sweaty and uncomfortable.No blinds or nets on windows, no full length mirror or dressing table lots of cobwebs but somebody did come to hoover..Black mould on shower tray and wall above bath..No coat hooks anywhere. Some of these issues were reported in other reviews.

We had everything we needed. Dog was welcome.
No toiletries in bathroom. No brush to clean chairs outside. They were very dirty.

The area was nice, a lovely community garden at the top of the street which was well looked after.
The house was comfortable, parking was a bit iffy, if you moved your car you lost your space outside the house.
I nice 15-20 minutes walk into York.
The bathroom sink didn’t drain away well, my husband had to shave down stairs at the kitchen sink which isn’t ideal.
Cobwebs everywhere. No brush to clean down the outside furniture so we could sit outside.

The house was situated in a quiet street on the outskirts of York. Easily accessible by taxi and parking permit (supplied) for on the street parking with your own car. It was comfortable, clean and cosy. Brilliant for a short stay.

Great well proportioned property in a good location. Lovely community garden opposite and on street parking with permit provided. Loved the fact dogs were welcomed and almost everything we could have wanted was there.
The yard at the back could do with some tlc and the garden furniture needs a wash down.

Nice property great location, only 10 mins walk to York station via the footbridge, warm, clean and comfortable served our purpose, parking easy enough outside property.
Nowhere to hang coats, even though it’s for 4 people, you did only get tableware for 4, so stuck if you want an extra plate for anything.

Lovely home , comfortable beds . Comfortable living room. Had everything you needed. Very close to the town centre .just a short walk to the train station . Communication is great with the owners . I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again .

The beds were comfy, good size bathroom, good location, easy walk into town, good-sized bedrooms. We enjoyed the property and would stay again,there were only a couple of minor niggles! .
There was only really wine / prosecco glasses available, so was difficult to give the kids a drink in a normal glass. No where to hang coats/ scarves etc. (We bring a lot of coats especially in winter ).

Stayed here last year with my In-Laws. Came again with them and was so happy when I knew I could book again. Enjoyed a lovely week in York. Lovely clean house as always. Thankyou

The house was in a very quiet area of town and was clean and looked like it had recently been renovated or redecorated. The beds and bedding were comfortable and we slept well. It is good we had the parking permit as we would not have been able to park anywhere near the house. We were able to walk into the city via a bridge to the back of the train station, which was very convenient.
The kitchen could be better stocked with kitchen tools but we managed. The patio outside was a bit of a mess so we couldn’t sit outside but I’ve informed the owners/managers.

The house was extremely clean and renovated to a very high spec. The beds were super comfortable and the whole house very well equipped. The bathroom has a beautiful roll-top bath. It was extremely quiet on the street where the house is located and we would definitely return and recommend.
The only criticism is that the staircase doesn’t have a handrail. I slipped on the last two steps of the stairs but fortunately suffered nothing more than a bruise. As I was travelling with two ladies in late 70’s to mid 80’s, I would urge the owners to install a handrail.

central location, just a hop and a skip into the centre of York but without the usual city noise. Although situated very close to a railway track we did not hear a train once in the 3 days, 2 night we stayed. Very well layed out wee house which was very comfortable and inviting. Good parking at the door which made unloading simple.

The property looks newly refurbished, we were delighted with it, the bathroom is amazing. The dining room was great with a big proper table and chairs with plenty of space to eat and play a board game.
we have a really big 4x4 and it was extremely tight to access the road to the property.

Was absolutely fantastic. So clean and fresh. Lovely little welcome touch of cookies 🍪 and milk in the fridge. It was a birthday present for my mother in law and she absolutely loved it. Thankyou so much you really have a beautiful property and I hope to be back next year.

property was perfect for dogs. back yard. doors to close them in the kitchen. everything was clean and comfortable. location was perfect. close enough to walk in to the centre but outside enough for peace and quiet and walks in the racecourse with the pooches.
please could you put bins in the yard so we could have recycled /kept rubbish outside. other than that wonderful thanks.

Total lack of kitchen utensils. Pots and pans were there, but nothing to use with it. Narrow stairs to the second floor.

It's a perfect, fully equipped little house. Lovely kitchen, bathroom and separate lounge and dining room.
They hadn't left enough towels for us on arrival (though they sorted this quickly for us). The easiest route into the centre is over a bridge behind the railway station and I wouldn't want to do that in the dark. Only one key so we couldn't come back separately after my parents had gone to bed.

immaculate house in a perfect, quiet location.
just a ten minute, leisurely stroll and you're in York city centre.
Well equipped kitchen, comfy lounge, bed is extremely comfortable.
Bathroom is ace, Shower wins extra points, hot water and heating are spot on.
There's a back yard that is perfect for warmer weather.
Considering I'm not a dog person (it's my partner's dog) there's no suggestion at all that dogs were ever there.
I would absolutely recommend this house 100%
Parking is a bit limited but on street parking is easily found within a two minute walk.
