We stayed Kernhof Hotel during our alpine passes motorcycle trip. Location is almost in the centre of Zurich and the place is biker friendly. In Zurich parking is expensive and quite complex if you are not familiar. So the gentleman who were in charge of the place were very kind and helpful. He offered us to put our bikes into y parking spot for free. So go and stay 🙃

The facilities were great. The room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel is close to the railway station, but the area around the hotel is very unsafe. Staying here caused us a lot of stress and discomfort. If we had known, we would have paid more for a safer location. Definitely not recommended for female travelers or children.
There was a very long climb up the stairs, as we couldn’t find an elevator.

Cleanliness
The noise outside 😟
People shouting at 3-4 am

Handy location, close to the train station.
It was advertised that there was a kitchenette in the room but there wasn’t and there were building works opposite that started early in the morning.

It was one of the cheaper hotels in Zurich. Easy do it yourself check-in.
We didn’t know the location was in the middle of the nightlife area. It can be loud at night and also when we were walking to the hotel there appeared to be a lot of strip clubs or something around which doesn’t bother us but it feels like a seedy part of town. Also since it is a self-check in type hotel there aren’t always staff to ask questions. It appears more equipped for the winter than for summer because the fan we had didn’t work the greatest we were very hot at night. Also be careful when using the hot water in the shower I burned my hand on the metal handle.

The room was fine. Everything you need for a couple of nights. Walking distance to station and Old Town.
Had difficulty finding the Hotel, tucked down a side street. The immediate area is seedy. noisy and with, what looked like, a lot of prostitutes on the main street. Discos going on until 5am and lots of shouting in the street. Difficult to recommend for a decent night's sleep. In fairness, the Hotel do send an advance warning that you are in the "lively" area. Depends how you define "lively " I guess!

Well positioned between the center and the train station. Lovely 2 star budget hotel. Nice and clean though.
Tiny bed!

The staying was good, it's a small suite but enough for a single person or a couple. I must point out though that the hotel is located on a area with a intense nightlife which it's not exactly a problem for me but it can be for some. Because I went in the summer I wanted to keep the windows open in the night but due to the loud music on the nearby clubs I had them closed which was okay as they have a fan available but that might not be the most comfortable for every person. They have a kettle, teabags and some chocolate which was a nice addition. The room was clean except for under the bed. The bathroom is good and with a good shower. The location it's at the hottest spot of Zurich's nightlife and very close to the center (around 1km to the train station).

Very close to the center of the city
The hotel was great just the neighborhood has lots of nightclubs and close to the red zone

The staff was accommodating and allowed us early check in. The room was clean.
The neighborhood felt VERY unsafe. The room itself felt safe but the moment you go out the property, it felt very unsafe.
There are toiletries, but no coffee. There are boxes of tea provided but opened and the other box is expired.

Perfectly clean and ideal room. Central location. Interesting area 🤔🤣.
Great value for money in a great City

Very bad location. We felt unsafe. Hotel is surrounded by prostitutes and dealers. Windows are pointed at where they live so we kept them closed with curtains. Room is a bit too hot but has a little air conditioning. Room was nice and clean.

SImple and nice
The entire building smells of smoke, as soon as you walk into the building the smell just blows you away.. The description says that the property is non smoker, but even inside the rooms you can smell the cigarets from the corridors. I dont understand where the smoke is coming from is the property is non-smokers.

Good value and comfy beds.
Location is in the red light street, which we didn’t know existed in Zurich, it’s a bit noisy area.

Property is comfortable. No aircon where we stayed. The area is a bit sketchy with many people standing or sitting around.
The area it’s located. But it’s close to the train station

Room was clean and very nice. Location was not far away from the city centre. Good value for the money.
The Street is not very nice, but of course the hotel can not do anything about it. I would not recommend it if it is important to you to stay in the nice area.

The apartment itself was nice and clean, and modern.
The location. well it’s near train station (10 mins) - it’s a plus, Europe allee is here, BUT there were so many “girls” around (on Saturday). I was uncomfortable

Little chocolates, crisp bread and bottled water gratis.
Not air-conditioned so needed to open windows at night to cool room after extremely hot day. However, it was a ground floor room with windows opening directly onto an alley with passing pimps, prostitutes and drunks, sometimes stopping to talk outside our window. One man walking up and down the alley shouting out at someone else over a period of hours. So not much sleep. Discarded mattress on road outside front door. Not advised as it was in a rough neighbourhood. Bin in bathroom hadn’t been emptied before our arrival.

Very clean and had good quality additions (toilet paper, waters, chocolate) which added that extra touch. We thought it was very good value for the price and the bed was super comfy!
The only thing we didn’t like was the lack of AC (which we knew it didn’t have when we booked). We didn’t realise how hot it would be and even though we had a fan found it very hard to sleep :( Other than the heat it was amazing

The internet was very bad in our rooms. The place is close to a very loud street. The neighborhood is shady not recommended for Family or Couples.

Cozy, spacious and luminous room (i had the suite) in a vibrant neighborhood. Very easy to check in and out.
Due to a malfunction that apparently I was the first to notice, my room door could unlock and open even without using the key. So I guess anyone with access to the building has access to any room. Also, the building does't have a lift so have this in mind if you are booking with heavy luggage, and families may feel uncomfortable in the immediate neighborhood during the night.

Location is close to everything but not kidfriendly. Don't have kids so it was great for us
Place was hot and except for opening the Windows there is no way to regulate temperature
6.0 / 10.0
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was big (esp for the size of the room), the staff was extremely helpful and kind. There were refreshments offered for free, and I had no complaints about the room itself.
The location was a bit of an unpleasant surprise. Depends on what you travel for, of course, but if you were looking for a vanilla, quieter side of town where you can power down and relax, this is NOT the location for you. It's smack-dab in the middle of the party area of town and while the windows are really good at isolating the noise, the music just seeps through the foundation of the building. It does mean that it's also close to a lot of places to eat and have a drink, which is great. It's also within walking distance of the main train station and the old town so again - depending on what you look for in your travel, the location might be exactly what you need. For me, it was a major drawback though.

The room was very good and clean, close to the bus stop that takes you to the train station in a few minutes, close to cafes and restaurants.
