Excellent overnight stay

I absolutely loved our overnight stay at this wonderful hotel. Arrived with my son very late in a Saturday night (however, we still managed to arrive 20’ or so before the standard check in was closed at the reception) because our flight back to CH had a significant delay. They basically waited for us to arrive and the front desk lady was very accommodating, helped us with everything we needed. We also had the chance to find the restaurant open and had an amazing experience, both culinary and as a service. The next morning, we needed a quick breakfast. The staff from the bar were also very attentive and only smiles. We did not have time to enjoy the additional egg dish they offered. The room was small (but this is what I’ve paid for), but very clean, modern and comfortable. For me, the details and the overall design of a place are conclusive and they speak by themselves about how a place is run. I would return to this wonderful boutique hotel for every single trip I would and will have to Zurich. Thank you a lot for our experience!

Helvetia was a great place to stay!

Staff and room were fantastic. The restaurant had the best meal we ate in Zurich. I highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.

Parking was only at the City Parking about 2-3 minutes walking distance, but you revive a 25% discount through the hotel, so not bad in my opinion.

The heated floors were awesome. The front desk woman was lovely. The lemon walls in the hallways were charming. The bathroom was nice.

Perfect Stay in the Heart of Zurich

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Helvetia. Everything was simply perfect – the location is ideal, the rooms and facilities are spotless, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated the complimentary coffee, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere is welcoming, and you really feel well taken care of here. The price is a bit on the higher side, but that’s completely normal for Zurich, and the quality you get makes it worth it. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!

Everything was perfect, one small thing to note: there are no grounded sockets (for example, for some laptop adapters), so an adapter may be needed.

Location is good, the proximity to the Selnau S-bahn station and Stauffacher tram stop is great. Breakfast OK. Staff efficient and friendly. Free WiFi works well.

Room is very small. Lack of sufficient electricity outlets. Sliding door separates bedroom from bathroom. No safe. Only water bottles in the minibar.

Well located, good size room but noisy when the room is facing the road

Nice art deco hotel, rooms were of good size, access to a nice gym nearby.

Noise isolation of the hotel is bad. It is located next to busy a busy road and you can hear the trams running from 4:45 in the morning. Therefore less suitable for light sleepers like me. Maybe the room facing the back are less noisy…

Nice hotel for a short stay in Zurich

The service at check in was awesome - very efficient and helpful with lots of suggestions for a one day stay in Zurich. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean and ready early upon our arrival. The location is out of the main center so it is quiet, but close enough that you are in the heart of the city in a very short walk.

A breakfast voucher would be nice as the hotel is a short walk to town so options for a quick bite are limited.

We had a lovely stay

A great hotel. Small and basic room but very cozy and clean. GREAT location right near the main streets but quiet. located by the river and very close to the train station. We loved the most: "The library" a room and a balcony, accessible all day long, with tea coffee, books and board games where you can relax by the riverside. it made our stay very comfortable and memorable.

The mattress was too soft and the bed was "sunken" -it made the sleeping not so comfortable.

We didn’t have the breakfast. It was not satisfactory for $25 CHF.

We didn’t like a lot. There was no staff 24 hours a day. When we entered our room there were no air vents. There was only a portable air conditioner unit with a large hose that had to stick out an 8 foot open window the whole time. It was 35C when we arrived. All the humidity came inside our room. We couldn’t close the window and it poured buckets. Some of our stuff got a bit damp. Our room was on a corner where trams passed by every minute or so. I didn’t sleep all night from the noise. We were also kitty-corner to a casino. There were lots of drunk people late at night making noise. We were moved to another room the next day but the air conditioner thermostat broke down so we were again without A/C for one more night. They finally fixed it the next day only when we asked them several times. The hallways of this hotel were in need of repair and paint and the floors were filthy throughout. Very limited staff except in the attached bar/restaurant. I would not recommend this hotel. Such a disappointment for a place that had a good rating. What a joke.

Design of the room was good, free coffee and tea were available at the entrance. The tram station is 2-3 minutes on foot. To go to the city center takes 5-6min by tram from the tram station. It is also possible to walk. The hotel staff was so kind.
