We arrived a little early for ‘official’ entry but the keys were waiting for us and we were able to go in straight away. The house is neat and clean with 2 double and 1 single bedrooms. We chose to sleep upstairs in the slightly smaller double as we like to keep windows open and, being town dwellers are happier upstairs. The velux window was great with the electric blind and even though it was fairly warm we were extremely comfortable.
The host has provided everything we needed, especially in the kitchen and a lovely welcome basket of Orkney produce was very much appreciated.
The house is perfectly placed for walks into Stromness and along the coast a short way, plus very easy to travel to other areas of The Mainland including the well known sights around the island. We also went for a couple of good length walks around the area which were wonderful.

Very friendly owners, all contacts were really nice and helpful. Especially the welcome package was really good.
Located in Stromnes, many of the neolithic sites are close.

We thoroughly recommend Hamn-vagr as a place to stay. Stromness is a delightful town, if a little short on evening restaurants, but availability of good food from local shops makes self-catering very easy. Kate was a delightful host, giving us all the information we needed. Worth using her contact details available in the property, as the Vrbo site's local connectivity was not good. We would certainly consider a return visit in the future.
