Highly misleading

The place was in decent proximity to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Beauraing, a ten minute walk.

The property is mentioned as a hotel but it is a bed and breakfast. That is misleading. There is no indication of its location as the outside on the main road says, 'Bakery and Patisserie'. The back door entrance has a small name plate which is not on the front of the premises and is dinghy and daunting especially if you are travelling with large suitcases. The staff consists of just one lady who is a caretaker and leaves the place at 5 pm, no reception or front desk, so a common key is used for the whole premise. That can be unsafe if the other guests are unreliable. I certainly felt intimidated with the setup. The owner Nathalie provided contact details but we could not access the details until we got wi-fi. The rooms are accessible only by two flights of stairs which are steep and narrow and makes you feel claustrophobic. There was a fan in the cupboard for cooling but no space in the room to plug it in as well as just no plug points to charge devices. The only plug point available was the TV point which was used by us adding multiple charger pins. The washroom or toilet is outside the bedroom in the corridor which is accessed by all guests. The toilet has no wash basin to wash your hands. The guests in the room above were heard each time they walked around as the floor boards were creaking and noisy. The terrace was also on another floor and not attached to any room. The room in itself was small with many other articles of furniture vying for space impeding movement and cramming the room. The mini refrigerator that is mentioned in the list was not functioning. Glad we didn't need it. The window overlooks a noisy and loud restaurant that is very popular and frequented by the young people of the area. One cannot sleep until all the noise has subsided or until one shuts the windows making it hot inside I would recommend that Booking.

Good for 1 night just to close your eyes and leave quickly.

The location was ok

The bed was really bad. I could only lie in the middle and got stuck there for the rest of night. Time for a new matress. The other had the shower in the room?! No toilet in the room. Only a shared toilet for both rooms. The entree was dark and not very fresh and welcoming.

Very welcoming hostess, room was beautiful and very spacious. Breakfast was fantastic with a lovely selection of croissants, fresh bread, fruit etc. the location was ideal in the centre of the town with shops and restaurants nearby. There was also convenient parking nearby.

Great stay

The room is excellent for the price. the bathtub is great. the room is very spacious and had everything you need. There are a lot of shops and terraces nearby. The breakfast is in a bakery a couple of metres from the hotel. we could choose 3 vinoisseries and two drinks which we very much enjoyed.

There’s not much we didn’t like. maybe the noise outside from trucks and terrace. Also the corridor downstairs was a bit smelly.

Perfect location for a one night stop to visit the region or friends.

We found it was very good value for the money. Our room was big and had all you could need including the tea and coffee machine. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Robert, who was availably for any request.

Très bon accueil, facile de se garer, restaurant en face pour manger au soir, la chambre était propre. Pas grand chose à dire de plus c’était bien.

Seul point négatif c’est l’insonorisation, même fenêtre fermer on entend super fort les gens parler dans la rue, les voitures qui passe, on aurait cru que la fenêtre était ouverte mais non, sinon mise à part ça, rien à dire.

Une hôte bienveillante et un logement chaleureux.

L'hôte met tout en œuvre pour garantir un séjour de qualité : disponibilité, réactivité, un logement propre, confortable avec une déco accueillante et chaleureuse sans excès. Le petit déjeuner servi en terrasse était gargantuesque ! Comme le nom du logement, "sucré-salé" Un grand merci à Nathalie pour son accueil chaleureux et son sourire radieux !

Miskoop van de maand

De uitgang zodat we snel weer weg konden wezen

Ingang was niet te vinden. Nmr 43 bestaat niet. Na lang zoeken en navragen bleek dat we een achteringang moesten hebben, een heel ander nmr. Voor de deur leek het de ingang van een kraakpand. Na lang zoeken de sleutel kunnen vinden. Niemand aanwezig en telefoon werd niet gereageerd. Entree een smalle gang met smerige stinkende vloerbedekking. Dan een hele stijle trap met wederom vieze vloerbedekking zowel je koffer als mijn rollator kon je nauwelijks hierover meenemen. Smalle trap tussen muren naar boven, trap bewoog helemaal en was gevaarlijk. Bij brand leek dit een slechte route Was wel een brandblusser opgehangen Omdat ik slecht ter been bent is mijn vrouw de kamer wezen zoeken. Veel deuren met prive. Uiteindelijk heeft ze boven nr 3 kunnen ontdekken. Bloedheet, erg muf boven in het pand. Kamer met kleine ramen Ik zelf niet meer boven geweest, vond het niet veilig en te bedomt. Foto' s leken niet op de werkelijkheid Kamer zelf kan ik niets over zeggen, we zijn rechtsomkeer gemaakt omdat ik het van het hele plaatje Spaans benauwd kreeg. Contact gehad met winkelier beneden. Deze keek niet op van onze ervaring. Hij gaf aan dat het pand ook gebruikt wer voor betaalde liefde en drugsgebruik Kortom in de auto en weer naar huis Ondanks de lovende woorden in de reviews was dit voor ons een hele slechte ervaring en we zijn toch echt niet flauw. Je zit voor die prijs niet in het Hilton, dat weten we heel goed. Maar dit zou je eigenlijk niet, gezien de hele entourage, niet moeten verhuren Klacht ingediend bij booking en advies gegeven dit pand onmiddelijk uit het bestand te halen

De locatie is makkelijk te vinden , hartje Beauraing en middenin de Ardennen. Ingang wel aan de achterkant. Winkels en eetgelegenheden dichtbij en voldoende parkeergelegenheid in Centrum. Veel wandelingen in de buurt en de lokale "tourist information" heeft hierover informatie. Dinant, Givet, Frankrijk op rij afstand en veel bezienswaardigheden in de nabijheid. Ook lekker lounge balkon
