Great place to explore the region and the twin towns of Charleville- Meziers

Large amount of room downstairs for us to use, for example a pool-table, fuss-ball table, television, real fire etc. Upstairs, the bedroom was absolutely cavernous with a very comfortable king-size bed, plenty of space to place suitcases, and a bathroom that was more than adequate. Secure car parking behind an electric gate was a bonus.

Great location with private parking, very friendly hosts!

Warm welcome at a beautiful location! Spacious beautiful room (very clean) with nice bathroom and great views. Loved the amenities (lots of coffee and tea). Nice that there was a refrigerator in the room as well. Very friendly hosts, lovely breakfast with fresh bread.

Great location for exploring Mezieres

Great location in the old part of Mezieres right on the ramparts; really friendly couple who run it; huge, beautifully appointed (& comfortable) bedroom and bathroom.

We were initially a bit confused by the huge gates with no name of the property outside when we first arrived. But all quickly resolved once we were let in.

A very good, homely apartment with lovely touches - jar of nuts/dried fruit, jar of marshmallows!

As the simple, though adequate, breakfast was included in the price it was not possible to assess its value. We were grateful for it. However, I would have preferred the bread/pastries to be placed centrally rather than shared out equally between the guests. If it was truly 'complementary' it was fab. If not, a simple bowl of fruit would have been a great addition.

A jewel of a place in a unique location

Location was perfect for us, with secure parking for our motorbike. Room was fully equipped and very big, bed was large and comfortable. Hosts were lovely and very helpful. This was an unusual room in a family home which was great. Would highly recommend this place as close to city centre and located on city walls.

Loved it and would go back again.

The location was excellent right on the banks of the River Meuse and close to where we needed to meet a friend. It was a short drive into the main area with restaurants etc. Room was spacious and had air conditioning. Bathroom was new and very clean. Hosts couldn't have been friendlier and more pleasant. Breakfast was excellent and laid out for us very beautifully. The house is full of interesting and quirky things. We would definitely stay there again.

The plumbing relied on a macerator which was a little noisy and felt quite deafening in the middle of the night. There was no extractor fan in the toilet.

Amazing, old and tranquil building. Going through the gates was like entering another world. Fantastic, huge bedroom and ensuite. Very comfortable and well appointed. Lovely to be able to relax and enjoy the outside space. Superb and plentiful breakfast. Thank you :)

The host has a beautiful garden and two cats which makes the place very agreeable. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable.

Great hosts but relatively boring area

Kind hosts who helped us very well. Room is well equipped with a fridge and large bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was also great! Parking is free in front of the gite.

Rooms are a bit noisy and the good part of town is about 20 minutes walking distance

Large rooms, almost a suite. Good restaurant on site and nice breakfast. Well located for the town centre.

The lack of a welcome. The accommodation was not easy to find because of no signage and it took 10 minutes to find someone to let us in as nobody was answering the intercom. Not good after a long day's travelling.

Happy with the restaurant. Had a good nights sleep and breakfast was ok, before setting off on a 100km+ cycle ride.

For a lone cyclist wanting a shower and comfortable bed it was good. The restaurant attached serves decent food and for me was ideal.

Finding the place is difficult. Even people who live within 50m don’t know it exists as La Ferme de Saint Julien. The place needs a good clean!! The dog dirt on the veranda doesn’t give a good impression on arrival.

Definitely coming back!

The owner couldn't speak English at all but it was no problem. He was very kind and tried to communicate. The room was cozy and spacious, with cute decoration. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean and spacious, modern, and everything functions right. Breakfast was exceptional! Delicious croissant and freshly cooked eggs. The owner also owned restaurant in which we had dinner that night, the food was very delicious.

Accueil chaleureux mais nuit très perturbée.

La ville

Nous avons été accueillis très gentiment par le propriétaire et ses deux jeunes enfants. Bien que nous appréciions le concept de séjour chez l'habitant, l'intimité a été quelque peu limitée dès notre arrivée. Le principal point noir reste la qualité du sommeil. À notre retour vers 23h, un enfant regardait encore la télévision avec un volume sonore élevé juste en-dessous de notre chambre, et ce, jusqu'à minuit. S'en sont suivies de nombreuses nuisances sonores durant la nuit : un broyeur bruyant, un chauffage au gaz émettant des claquements incessants (nous obligeant à l'éteindre à 1h30 du matin), ainsi qu'un réfrigérateur sonore. De plus, la climatisation s'est rallumée seule, créant une gêne lumineuse directe au-dessus de nos têtes. Malgré la gentillesse de notre hôte et un petit-déjeuner simple mais correct, nous repartons fatigués. Le manque de tranquillité et les problèmes techniques ont malheureusement pris le dessus sur l'aspect humain.

Origineel verblijf vol leuke verrassingen. Veel ruimte ook voor kinderen. Vriendelijke ontvangst.

Heel originele locatie vlak aan de basilique. Het adres staat op Place de la basilique 15..Maar die nummer was niet te vinden. Ingang was in doodlopend zijstraatje. Tip: een kleine wegwijzer plaatsen aan de hoek van de zijstraat. Dat zou veel gezoek voorkomen. Mensen in de omgeving kende niet echt de benaming 'Ferme de Saint Julien' wel 'Le garage' daar er op de locatie ook feestjes worden georganiseerd. TIP 2: In de living of op de kamer wat info leggen over de historiek van het gebouw. Heel aangename aankleding van hal, living en kamers. De boekenkasten op de kamers zijn prachtig! De living staat vol prettige dingen...een tropisch aquarium, een drumstel en andere instrumenten, speelgoed, enz.

Sehr originell und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer mit eigenem Bad im oberen Stock des Häuschens der Vermieter. Wasserkocher mit Kaffee/ Tee inklusive. Hübsch gedeckter Frühstückstisch im Erdgeschoss mit breitem Angebot und sehr leckerem Brot und Croissant frisch vom Bäcker geholt. Ein Blick in die nahe gelegene gotische Kirche mit modernem Fensterzyklus lohnt!
