Good value/friendly place

The woman who did everything (reception/breakfast etc) was really lovely. The room was spacious and great to be able to watch Netflix etc on TV. Good breakfast.

Good to ask for room at back due to street noise - although with windows shut in the winter, it didn’t disturb us. The electric car loading is for “normal” electric sockets so you need to have that with you.

Stairs were quite steep, although we were offered a ground floor room 😁 the garage parking entrance is very narrow so you have to be very careful !

My room was small'ish but perfectly adequate, well furnished and clean. Lovely breakfast. Under-cover parking was a bonus - Madame didn't charge me as I had the small room :-) Madame was lovely and very efficient.

Access to parking is at an acute angle off the road, right next to traffic lights so pretty awkward on first encounter. Once you know the necessary angle of attack it's fine.

The Hotel le Pelican was an excellent base for visiting Charleville

This is a simple (but it has 3 stars) 20-room hotel with no dining facilities except for breakfast and no staff on the premises several hours a day. You are given a code to enter the hotel if nobody is there. However, the proprietress is charming and makes every effort to ensure you have a good experience. My flight was cancelled so I arrived a day later than planned but I was able to communicate by email with her and all went very smoothly. She responded promptly to my emails. The hotel is on a busy street but my room was quiet. The location is within easy walking distance of the place Ducale and all the places of interest and restaurants in Charleville. The parking is ample but not immediately obvious when you drive up to the hotel. You approach it through a very narrow passage off the street immediately after the hotel entrance. The passage is very sharply angled to the street. Do not try and turn into it from the near lane of the street; you will have a good chance of scraping the side of your car. It is better to wait for a break in the traffic and turn right from the outer lane to ensure you approach the passage pointing straight in.

Parking tricky but ok once you are prepared for it.

Solo motorcycle pensioner

Nice hotel with amazing large garage. Modern inside the very good clean room. It is very central and an easy walk into the main town. Loved the huge garage to keep my motorbike and several cars) toasty and dry. Breakfast not bad.

Entrance of parking was small and located at a busy street. It would be recommendable if information was available about the entrance of the parking in advance, because it was almost impossible for us to get in the parking with our car. Furthermore we are very positive about the hotel.
