Great location but not much else

The location was excellent

The heating was unfathomable so we were freezing. Bedding felt old and worn Mattresses were uncomfortable Extremely loud noise throughout the cottage whenever the ensuite toilet is flushed Downstairs bathroom is freezing Light switches that seem to do nothing In need of fresh decorating and filling Poor directions to the property Hadn't been very well cleaned hence there were cobwebs etc around the cottage and black mould/mildew in shower grouting

Perfection in Two Bedrooms!

An absolutely superb little cottage, ideally suited for our needs. We arrived at around 9pm, to find the cottage warm , clean, and homely. Undoubtedly one of the best places weve ever stayed!

Very nice location and overall a nice cottage. However, cleanliness has really gone downhill since our last visit.

We’ve stayed in this property 3 years ago when we visited alton towers. It’s in a great location, parking is no issue, decent facilities in the cottage and very close to some nice pubs.

Unfortunately this time round the cottage wasn’t very clean. When we entered the property it was filled with cobwebs. Looked like it hadnt been dusted for a VERY long time. In the single bedroom when pulling back the sheets on the bed on the floor, we found 2 spiders which was very off putting. In fact, every room had a few spiders which was evident from the amount of webs which were visible. I understand it’s an old cottage, but cleaning/ dusting really needs to be improved.

Great location. Charming property

No TV. NOT made clear in marketing. NO garden. NOT made clear in marketing. Frustratingly irritating & consistent noise from boiler or pipes. Totally distracting. Neighbour who had access to the garden we were not given access to smoked marijuana constantly. Horrible smell & very inappropriate. Toilet seat upstairs broken. Heating did NOT work. Despite ‘instructions’ all prior guests commented on this issue in guest book. Totally over priced property in light of all the issues we experienced

Rock view cottage

Had an amazing time with the kids here lovely warm clean cottage and it's an ideal location for Alton towers the bus stop is less then 10 minutes walk away and goes straight to the park itself and the taxi service is spot on to get to anywhere else cheaply and also takeaway delivery is available to the cottage if you don't fancy cooking, or there is plenty of pubs close by for food and refreshments we went to the Talbot it's 5 minutes walk away we had a really decent meal ,if your in to walks and hikes there is plenty around with stunning views I live in north Wales and go hiking a lot and even I was impressed by the views it was like home from home , so I can honestly say I'll 100% be using this place again soon. many thanks Mark Anthony.

Quaint cottage

Great location, very comfortable, well equipped home. Plenty of space to relax. Loved having two bathrooms. Gas log effect fire made it cosy on evening.

The CH was not working, after a very long drive I was annoyed to have to get in touch re this matter and then spent a lot of time on phone and going to boiler to try to make it work, which again I wasn't happy about as not my boiler. Next day we were up early to go out so missed call from managing company. This did not leave me with a good impression of management

Such a perfect location within Alton surrounded by pretty pubs and obviously close to Alton towers. The cottage was stunning and so cozy with lots of space for 4 adults and had everything that we could possibly need.

The vibrating noise was annoying at times but barely noticeable after a while and we understood that it wasn't the hosts fault (as stated in the welcome pack that it was an ongoing issue that they didn't know the source of) so wasn't a big problem for us and definitely did not ruin our stay.

Quality accommodation in a private and peaceful location. Very clean and well-stocked.

Beautiful cottage with lovely furnishings. Well-equipped kitchen and everything was in good order. Very clean throughout. Great to be provided with tea, coffee and hot chocolate for use on arrival and also good quality full-size toiletries. Bedding and towels were immaculate and beds very comfortable. Private and peaceful location but with a shop and pubs nearby. Good selection of games, books and puzzles. No TV which suited us fine. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Close to alton towers, pretty surroundings and has everything you need to hand

Viibrating pipes in the ceiling. Unfortunately I'm a light sleeper, so kept me awake a lot. Also had trouble with the alarm, as it didn't state in the instructions what to do apart from pull down the flap. By the time I found the code, it went off.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage! It was cozy and well-maintained, with excellent ventilation that made the space feel fresh and comfortable throughout our visit. The facilities were great—everything we needed was provided—and the location was perfect, peaceful yet conveniently situated. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

Central Heating was working only first night and second night though we complained, it wasn't fixed in time, so little disappointed there as it is very cold over weekend.

Lovely cottage

Beautiful cottage and gorgeous location. Perfect for cosy evenings by the fire. Pub just round the corner. 5 minutes drive from Alton Towers

Practical location, lovely setting.

Lots of cottage charm. Plenty of utensils and equipment needed. Beautiful location and quiet.

We moved the living room chair and lots of bugs round skirting boards and behind armchair. No furniture and been moved during cleaning process that my youngest felt uncomfortable with. Needed heating on at tea time due to heavy rain and weather feeling cool for the time of year but husband couldn’t override on the boiler so kitchen and upstairs was cold. Thank god for living room fire.

Great location, lovely cottage, needs some work on pipes and larger duvet

Amazing location, a lovely cottage with a real rustic feeling yet with comfort. Seemless checking in procedure and nice emails to welcome you to the cottage that night. We would stay here again for sure if they make a couple of changes and worth noting below.

Double bed is quite small with a small duvet meaning it only just covers you both. We located a space in a cupboard so we had a duvet each. There is a water pipe that vibrates downstairs which woke us up during the night a lot so we didn't sleep well, we did email to feed this back and hopefully it can be resolved. It's an old house and you expect some pipe noises but this is something else. Hopefully, they can solve this one.

Pleasant

I recently stayed at Rock View in Alton on Monday and Tuesday night. We arrived about 6 pm on Monday after a long drive. The house was cold when we arrived around 13 degrees. Hub for heating said it was heating up, however over the course of the evening nothing happened. I tried setting the hub to manual but it did not work. I also could not get the gas fire in the living room to work either. We left for Alton Towers on the Tuesday and came back around 7 pm. When we left in the morning the heating hub said it was heating from 14 to 19 degrees. When we returned the cottage was still freezing and again I tried to set it to manual but again no heat. Did call your office and spoke to someone who tried to get a plumber to come out to have a look but there was no one available. At one point I was sitting on the toilet with the fan heater above me on to get some heat. I would point out that there was hot water so there was no problem with the boiler. My daughter and her friend went to bed freezing, my daughter pointing out that she could see her breath. Whilst the cottage was lovely I do not feel that I can leave a good review based on my experience. Maybe a more comprehensive set of instructions are required for the heating hub. One final point I found a wooden spoon in a basket which was very dirty. I let it soak in some hot water to get whatever was stuck on it to come off.

Charming cottage in a fab location.

Lovely property with charming decor. Really appreciate the selection of board games and coffee provisions. Excellent location for a family trip to Alton Towers, and conveniently located just around the corner from a friendly pub with a wood fired pizza takeaway.

We had some difficulty figuring how to work the water heater, but we sorted it eventually.
