Location, 5-10min walk from Train Station, in the middle of where we wanted to be, few minutes walk to the Castle, easy access to Murrayfield Stadium Comfy bed, large shower,

For us absolutely nothing. If you are a light sleeper, then just the hustle & bustle, street entertainers and Bagpipes due to the fringe being on might be a problem, having said that we had our windows open, when closed drowned alot of the noise out.

Heating would not turn on

The apartment was well designed, beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable, with plenty of pillows provided. The kitchen was well equipped and had almost everything we needed, although the provision of some basic cutlery and crockery could be improved. The location was perfect for sightseeing, provided you don’t mind being right on one of Edinburgh’s busiest streets! The bathroom was in excellent condition, and the shower was particularly good. We also really appreciated being offered a later check-out at no additional cost, which was a very thoughtful touch.

We fully understand and appreciate the need for security, particularly given the location of the apartment. However, the process of accessing the property and retrieving the key was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. The confirmation email was very long and detailed, which is generally a positive. However, the check-in instructions were neither easy to locate nor straightforward to follow. Firstly, the address provided directed us to a shop. The apartment itself was located behind an unmarked door amongst the surrounding shops, so it took us some time to identify the correct entrance. We then faced a further challenge retrieving the key from the key box. The instructions were, to put it mildly, unclear. We had to repeatedly search through the lengthy confirmation email to find the different pieces of information required at each stage of the process. I also tried calling the contact number provided but received no answer. When I emailed to ask for clarification, I was simply directed back to the confirmation email. The email itself repeatedly directs guests to Booking.com and the accommodation’s website, while requiring different pieces of information to be found in various places throughout the message. Overall, it took us well over 30 minutes from arriving at the address to actually gaining access to the apartment. This is not an acceptable experience, particularly when arriving in extreme heat. Again, we completely acknowledge the need for robust security and the practical challenges of managing multiple rental properties. However, the customer should not bear the burden of an overly complicated system. The content and layout of the information provided could be significantly improved to make the process clearer, more intuitive and much easier to follow.
