Central Home near Edinburgh Castle with Free Private Parking

Apartment was well located to Edinburgh centre in a quiet street (15 min walk), had private parking which was a huge plus point and was next to all the main supermarkets including M&S simply food. The apartment had a nice large TV and had free wireless. Apartment was spotlessly clean, Bedding was clean with towels provided. General decor was in good condition with no damage. Host was excellent and went out of their way to make our stay hassle free. The apartment was also locate on a quiet street.

Overall the apartment felt a little tied in places. We found the oven and hob a little problematic but as we only ate in one night so it don’t impact our stay.

Very good location close to the city center with a secured parking place (included in the price), which is really a luxury. Rather clean and spacious apartment for two persons (but could become small for more than 4 persons). Very friendly host (contacted only via messages). Usable fridge, working TV with many channels, fairly large dining table.

There was no usable wardrobe (it was filled with other stuff), no space (i.e. shelf) in the bathroom for personal necessities, poorly working electric stove. No window shutter in the bedroom (only simple blind), not really comfortable bed. Apartment was slightly renovated, but in a rather cheap way.

Close proximity to Edinburgh center and iconic sites such as Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile and Victoria St. Flat was on ground floor, helpful for my elderly parents. Private, gated parking. There were some cute, charming accents with the flat. Host, Andrew, was timely with communication. Plentiful towels and toiletries supplied as well as coffee, tea and cookies, which we appreciated. The flat was very clean and had self check-in with key pad lock.

The flat could use an upgrade with its appliances which were dated and would not work consistently or predictably and/or had broken elements. We had to use portable heaters and had moments when we were cold in the flat. There are a lot of switches (ie for the electrical outlets) and bathroom/water that need to be turned on/off which was something we’re not used to as Americans. The flat set up for more than 2 beds (we had 3) was tight - there was only about a foot space between beds and I kept banging my ankles against wooden platform of the 2nd bed in the bedroom. The furniture was budget, not high quality.
