fantastic hosts, Alison and Rob are incredible, we felt immediately welcome, they're born to this. The home is amazing, beautiful location, the rooms, superb. You must say hello to their dogs. We had such a welcoming form both of them, breakfast felt personal. We couldn't recommend this place enough. Everyone and anyone should go pay them a visit .

the only thing and ever so small. We turned up in the pitch dark and had real trouble finding the place. Although Alison was brilliant on the phone. There is a small sign on the wall and it was so dark we couldn't even see the horse trough that was the land mark. Maybe just a reflective sign or maker would really help. But the fact that it is in its location is the attraction for us.

kind host with two cute dogs and horses. Idyllic countryside cottage, like straight out of a movie & quiet nights ❤️ Beautiful huge garden with an opportunity to sit outside Delicious breakfast Big room Big parking space

- limited tourist information material, which is why we left some brochures from the tourist information centre - we had our own huge bathroom, but it was not ensuit as we had to go into the corridor and take the door next to us. - very remote location with narrow streets - only one breakfast table, which is why guests (if several) eat at different time slots; - no buffet apart from cereals and yoghurt, but items brought fresh from the kitchen (continental 2 croissants OR eggs and toast OR full English breakfast), which you wait for, but you can ask for more toast Advice: check your messages pre arrival! - the host contaced us about the arrival time on the day of arrival, where we were too busy with flights and getting our rental car to check booking.com. It wasn't clear to us that it was necessary to inform this host in advance. Usually we were contaced right after booking with other hosts, never on the same day... So I guess we started with a misunderstanding.

Peak district surprise.

A great location in the Peak District very close to Sheffield with all the attractions at hand. The host was so caring and very kind providing the home away from home atmosphere. Home cooked breakfast was also great.

An exceptional place to stay. Beautiful surroundings, a relaxed atmosphere and accommodating hosts.

It was an absolute privilege to stay in this property. it was very relaxed and we had freedom to use a large area of the property as well as the beautiful garden. The hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. There was no pressure to be in or out at a particular time and we felt very much at home. The hosts offered advice on where we could eat in the evenings and where we could explore the scenery and do a trail walk. The property was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. We appreciated and enjoyed the relaxed conversation with the host and this added to our enjoyment of the short break. Being in the heart of the countryside meant we saw plenty of wildlife, including numerous pheasants from the nearby wood, roaming freely on the lawn which was very pleasant to watch. There is so much more to say ... it is such a beautiful setting. We would definitely like to visit this property again and would like to thank our hosts for making this a truly enjoyable experience.

Everything was perfect. Alison is a lovely host, very helpful. Cottage is beautiful, surrounded by countryside and sheep. Clean rooms, very comfortable, great breakfast.

Beautiful, Welcoming Country Retreat

This place was not AT ALL as pictured in B.com. It is absolutely charming, full of light, and a cheerful delight to stay in !! The accommodations occupy an L of an L shaped picturesque stone farm house dripping with wisteria, eith lawn and garden, on a farm surrounded by friendly atmosphere-producing farm animals (horses, sheep), in a garden on one side and the farm buildings on the other. All are surrounded by a vast landscape of fields and pastures, just beyond the protective trees. It is in/on the edge of the High Peaks Nat'l Park, and a breathtaking experience. Big sky and gloriously open landscape. Friendly and cheerful. The accommodation is quite lux, with large light comfy rooms and a very large luxurious bathroom with tub, shower, and lots of hot water. The owner is a sophisticated, friendly, competent lady well versed in the life of the area. The public rooms downstairs, an inviting den and pleasant breakfast room, are sure to please. Breakfast was delicious and served at my convenience, with limited but adequate choice of traditional fare - nothing too fancy or esoteric. A relaxing country retreat in which to spend a few days.

A beautiful, rural location surrounded by fields and trees. The cottage gorgeous, the breakfast is lovely and Alison was a wonderful, friendly host. We took our dog and she was made very welcome and loved the extensive grounds to run around in. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you xxx

Fantasitc stay!

Great location not far from the numerous attractions of the Peak District. Room was lovely and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and Alison was very accommodating.

Only minor annoyance was the trickiness of opening the main door. Eventually realised that the lock operated better when pressure was applied to close the door more

Schöne Unterkunft mit familiärem Ambiente

Sehr gutes englisches Frühstück je nachdem wie man es gerne hätte. Die Gastgeberin Alison ist super freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilft auch bei der Aktivitätenplanung. Die Zimmer und das ganze Haus sind sehr sauber und ordentlich. Der Garten ist groß und bietet mehrere Sitzgelegenheiten.
