We had a truly wonderful stay at Guesthouse-Han Sonnet Villa and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto!
The location is fantastic—close to Nijo Castle and with easy access to buses and the subway, yet tucked away in a peaceful residential area . The villa itself is spacious and beautifully designed, blending traditional Japanese charm with modern comforts. With four bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, it was perfect for our family group . We especially appreciated the hot tub and drip coffee.
The host was incredibly kind and responsive throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed. Check-in was smooth and flexible, and the attention to detail made us feel truly welcome.
This is a wonderful base for exploring Kyoto's temples, shrines, and cultural treasures. We left with warm memories and would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Japan.

Big enough for 6-7 people. Great location, and very nice bathrooms. The backyard is very pretty.
No hanging place for any of the towels. No coffee cups and cutting board.
