A lovely authentic stay.
Rooms are lovely but the top room doesn’t have its own bath. Rooms are best only for 2 people.

Beautiful unique Japanese style room, excellent location for sightseeing and food, extremely quiet
We stayed a week but no shelves to organize our clothes.

The ryokan is set in an old traditional house fully renovated with all the modern comfort as well as an authentic feel helped by an exquisite decoration. The apartment is big yet intimate, opening on a private, carefully designed Japanese garden. Everything is impeccable and serene. The breakfast is cooked on site and is a perfect taste of Japanese cuisine.
The ryokan is off the beaten track and provides the opportunity to get closer to real life in Kyoto in a calm and safe neighborhood, but it is a bit isolated and opportunities for dinner on a Sunday night are quite limited.
