We loved staying at the Kyoto Machiya Fukune during our trip to Japan! This hotel was such an authentic experience. We loved the check-in process, which included making matcha and drinking tea with our host. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The house is amazing! Over 100 years old, you feel like you’re in an authentic Japanese house. The staff gave us a tea ceremony, which was incredible. The private onsen bath outside is the perfect getaway from the hustle of the city and great for your aching legs.

Amazing machiya house. Great bathrooms, tubs and scenery. Very different from a normal hotel but great service as well. Very close to bakeries, restaurants and the market.
