Room with a fantastic view

Out of all the properties I looked at and bearing in mind limited secure parking in the area I'm so glad I booked the Esplanade. When we arrived an hour before check-in I was greeted by the desk manager who was an absolute delight to deal with and very welcoming and helpful. We were delighted to learn that he had given us an apartment (Room 503) on the top floor with kitchen, living area and separate bedroom and bathroom so for the 2 of us was ore than enough space, not to mention our own wardrobe one of which was taken-up with our walking gear which was plentiful given the amount of gear we brought. The apartment was very clean and the views from the windows in the bedroom and the living area were outstanding looking out as far as the isle of Mull. The location is perfect and there is parking if you need to bring your car and literally 10 min walk from the railway station along the seafront. We had a comfortable stay and I could not fault the place. The views over the bay/harbour and out to the Isles are stunning. Plenty of quality eating houses to fit most pockets not to mention the watering holes. And yes, don't forget to book a 2 hour boat trip with Oban Sea Tours well worth the money, with running commentary and if you're lucky you may spot the dolphins and loads of wildlife. Can definitely recommend this apartment for a most relaxing and comfortable stay in beautiful Oban. We'll be back!

Excellent accomodation

Lovely location, comfortable accommodation for the week for a couple with a dog. Free parking on site, free WiFi. Friendly and welcoming staff on arrival. Apartment was no. 502 on the top floor. The lift was quick and we never had to wait. No noise from other residents and despite being on the main road it was quiet and the views were great. Great for hot water for washing up and showering. Towels and cleaning items were supplied which was great. It was like staying in a hotel really.

Not much not to like however, the hob could have been better and the kitchen tap updated. That's nit picking though as we managed using the microwave. Nothing else

The location . It is water facing

The size of the apartment. When we booked it was described as 135sq meters on booking.com . Upon checking it was not more than half of it . We raised the issue & checked out 1 night earlier . Had only 1 bathroom which was a huge inconvenience for a family of four . Non existent front office .

The apartments are very convenient in the centre of Oban sea front and we had great views across the bay from the third floor window. Staff were very helpful and apartment had everything we needed for a family holiday.

Wonderful views with comfort & convenience - highly recommended

The views from the kitchen-diner & lounge are fantastic - constant entertainment throughout all the weather changes - especially helpful when two of our group had limited mobility & spent more time at the apartment than originally planned. Everything is well-organised with comfortable beds, good showers/bath (including plenty of hot water), and everything you need in the kitchen for a week’s self-catering. The airing cupboard was an unexpected bonus - great help for drying coats & minor washing. Parking and lift were easy to navigate and reliable. The two receptionists we met were pleasant & helpful.

Minor things - there was no hairdryer - and although there was a broom, there was no dustpan & brush (?oversight?). Don’t be put off by the building being less attractive than other ‘period’ properties in town - the comfort, convenience and especially the views definitely outweigh other options in this price range!

Accommodation did not meet our expectations (based on the internet site photos)

Proximity to Oban town centre was good. Excellent bay views. Just enough on-site parking.

The accommodation and building looks tired and dated Wifi connectivity was poor making travel plans and communication with the outside world difficult. Particularly contacting family and friends back home (Australia) Cooking smells from other apartments was very strong at times. The fridge froze virtually everything (sandwich fillings, bacon, soft drinks) For the price we paid I doubt we would stay here again. It is not value for money.

Fantastic stay. Highly recommend this accommodation.

There's a reception desk at the property and Paula met me, checked me in and showed me into my apartment. She showed me around and explained everything. She's brilliant! First class service, warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. I had an issue with the internet and she sorted it promptly.

The only feedback I would add is that the bed pillows are not great and could do with an upgrade.

Very comfortable, large space, warm, clean and well kitted out. Our apartment was on floor 3 so we had excellent views. New bathroom and had been refurbished . Iain and his wife are caretakers/managers. They gave us a very warm welcome and lots of local knowledge. Well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher with everything you need to cook a full meal. No washing machine but access to washer/dryer on site. Central location for everything you'd want during a short stay.

Bed would benefit from the addition of a topper. WiFi not strong enough to support watching BBC I player, constant buffering

Lovely stay in the heart of Oban

The location was great. The hosts were very friendly, very helpful, provided us with a lot of information and a smile every morning! Apartment was clean and had all the necessary basic things.

The internet connection inside the apartments is not good at all. We needed to do some work and this quite difficult because the connection is very weak.

Wonderful

Wonderful we arrived early and were warmly welcomed by Ian. Quickly ran us procedures and assisted us to room with luggage. I had informed them we would be early purely for parking, to our astonishment a room was all ready for us . The accommodation is fabulous well looked after and caters for every need, location is just wow you don’t need a TV the views of Oban are just incredible. Thank you so much we will be back

NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN

The cheap furniture, Sofa was so uncomfortable, I have been to self catering a lot of times and the owners/ management have a small welcome basket, there was NOTHING in the flat, we went by train so it was a bit of a struggle to pack coffee tea sugar, if people arrive late at night they could never have a nice cuppa I will NEVER go back there, on YOUR WEBSITE you said double bed and bath, it was 2 single beds, and no bath just a tiny shower no tiny complimentary soap Shocking OVERPRICED, they charged me £50 for my tiny Pomeranian dog, 5* hotels are cheaper!.

From start to finish out Stay was amazing.

The property and those who look after it, Iain and his partner, was and are just amazing. The hosts did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. When things went wrong with our car Iain could not have been any more attentive or caring. I’m so impressed that if I could get him to move out of his paradise I’d employ him and his partner in a heartbeat.
