Cuan Flat - Oban

First of all, the location is ideal. Free parking, and everything is within walking distance. The apartment is spacious and bright, and the kitchen is fully equipped. We are both very tall and don't fit together in a standard double bed in England. Thanks to this apartment, we each had our own bed, plus a separate room for our gear for the expedition we were undertaking that week. It stays light for a long time there in the summer, but sleep masks had already been laid out. Out of the seven nights we stayed there, we experienced noise disturbance from a neighbor on just one night. Given other reviews, I think it is important to mention that this was a one-off incident and we had no issues with anyone else at all. And don't forget: this sort of thing can happen in hotels, too. It was an ideal base for us, and we enjoyed our stay.

We had a minor issue regarding the cleaning, but communication with the hostess was quick, and a suitable solution was provided.

Location couldn’t be better. Super comfortable and roomy apartment. Close to all of the main attractions and best grocery stores.

Central location

The flat is kitted out with everything you need. Lovely and spacious. Close to the town center and plenty of shops nearby, within walking distance.

The floor wasn't very clean, the stair leading up to the flat are quite grubby and not well kept. The neighbour downstairs has cameras all over the stairwell, illegally recording everyone. And she leaves abusive notes on the blackboard on the main entrance door. The neighbour downstairs accosted my adult children on their way downstairs to swear at them and say awful things about the owner and when I raised this with the owner, she said she was already aware of this. The owner said its been going on for a long time. Its clear the neighbour and owner have some issues and the neighbour takes this out on the guests. The owner sent me multiple messages telling me of her troubles with this neighbour. A week after we had left, the owner called me on my personal number to ask me to convince my children to report to the police and when I said they wouldn't want to do that she continued to text me even though I was not replying. We did enjoy our stay but the unprofessional and pushy nature of the owner really soured our visit. The last message I received from the owner was asking that I left a review, I really had to think long and hard about it because I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but I feel I should warn people. She also accused us of leaving rubbish or something, which I know we did not. This was an attempt to get me to write a good review. If the owner had handled the situation professionally and not hounded me during and after my stay with her personal problems and tried to pressure me to get my kids to report to the police, this would have been a much more positive review.
